I guess this is for a certain category of buyers for whom big cars on city roads mean something. Not me. |
Roxx isn't just about being seen in a big car. For a lot of people this is their first Jeep. For others it's the car they can finally buy after their family refused 3D Thar for whatever reason. For some this will be the car that will introduce them to offroading. For others this will be the first car they will do their first Leh circuit in. There must be people who saw we are young camping by Mahindra wayy back and decided that someday they'll buy a Mahindra, I mean Feel Like God campaign definitely put Avenger in my bucket list.
Also, it's not just about cars but pretty much every single person who buys a branded item is signaling the kind of person he/she is. There is tons of research on identity signaling and conspicuous consumption. So some people just want to be seen in a Thar. I mean after watching Tokyo Drift, I just rejected Hyundai every single time because of this scene.

I would still rather be seen in a Suzuki or a Kia instead of Hyundai rl:
The point of this rant is don't reduce buying Roxx as big car. Car purchase is a much more complex and emotional decision.

Well, the car is full of dust even in the boot. Even if you live near the main road, the car will get dirty outside, not inside. At this rate, any color seat will get dirty!
I had booked a Thar Roxx MX3 P AT, despite knowing about all its shortcomings. But after getting shortchanged by the Mahindra Customer Support and the showroom guys wherein they didnt even give me a proper answer about a tentative delivery date, I starightaway went ahead and bought a Seltos HTX iVT which I duly got in 3 days. Booking the Thar was a heart over mind decision and due to the lax attitude of Mahindra, the heart lost.

By no way I mean to reduce purchasing the Thar ROXX to a big car thingie - but your saying it is the first jeep for many is a different way of saying what I said. My preference is very binary. A petrol 4x4 Thar ROXX would have made more sense to me for OTR
2 problems that i am facing and would like opnion of the house. I have AX7L 4x4
1. The audio settings keep going to default and everytime i have to go to settings> audio to start the desire effect ( party/studio/immersive)
2 occasionally the left rear sensor gives and error as shown here. What to do about it any one facing similar issue ?

I got the SD card installed at the service centre yesterday. The slot is located somewhere around the front passenger footwell area. Installing it didn’t require opening of any panels; maybe ask your guy to reconfirm where it’s installed. |
My service centre guy has no clue absolutely about it. Any help would be appreciated where is the slot located

Sorry for digressing a bit, but need advice from fellow bhpians with more 4X4 experience.
...
Or is it a skill issue? With the right driver, the chains won't be needed on a 4X4? |
Sorry my friend, 4x4 is for situations where one or more tyres still have traction and can pull the vehicle out of tricky situations.
black ice or sleet on road means
none of the tyres have traction. In such cases, snow chains are a must.
Long story short, slippery road with hard
ice are a use case for snow chains and you can navigate there with even 2WD. You would be safe and mobile as long as the powered wheels have traction.

Congratulations on the allocation. I paid Rs.59,309/- (incl. GST) for Tata AIG insurance via dealership for my AX7 AT 4WD for which I took delivery last week. The initial quote from the dealership with Rs.1.2 Lakhs which I felt was bloated, so I got a quote from Acko to check and got them to match it. Below a picture of the deal FYI.

Anyone with brown interior got any estimated timeline? Especially if you booked in say late November?

Don't use Acko or Policy Bazaar. Contact TATA AIG Directly. If you go for 3+3yr TP and Own Damage itl be substantially cheaper than 3+1. Mahindra could not match the offer I recieved from Tata directly for my MX3.
For my 3+3yr with tons of add-ons I paid 74000. For 3+1, Tata quoted me 41000.

Thank you, let me get in touch with them.
My kind of mod for C-pillar modification. I liked it, and it’s look better than complete C-pillar wrapping.
Looking at one of the earlier posts where the car is only driven 3k and the car interior looks way to soiled.
Has anyone been able to come up with a pragmatic solution of keeping the white seats clean?

This is the exact reason I booked Mocha Interiors. It would be quite a task to maintain the white interiors. The only downside is to have to wait for 3-4 months. My tentative delivery is Feb-March.
