Took delivery of my AX7L just last evening, Carplay is not working.

During the first service of my AX7L the service advisor got it checked and told that Carplay is still not available for this variant. While he did confirm that a few lower variants have got it. Was unsure about the exact variants.

Try the built-in navigation- Mappls by MapMyIndia, showed me better routes & more accurate timing than Gmaps. Music can be piped by bluetooth till CarPlay becomes available.

Any audiophiles here who have tuned the 9-speaker JBL for a better sound?

My experience with in-built Mappls has not be that great. It missed time estimation by a good amount during peak traffic hours. However, have to live with it till the time Carplay becomes available.

For people who are using android auto - Is google map view available on digital cluster as well, like in built Mappls is?

The speaker system is HK, isn't it?

You don't get any vibrations now at high speeds? I commute to work often, so I'm not sure, with Bangalore traffic and the cop situation here, if this will be an issue.

Do you intend to continue using this setup? I think 22mm could be an option, but I don't think it'll change it much. I'm still contemplating what to do.

No vibrations currently at high speeds. My preference would be no spacers at all; I am waiting to come across alloys whose design I like which can be used without spacers. Continuing with the current set up for now till then or till the cops bug me; whichever is earlier.

HK, my bad. Using studio mode for now.

Sorry to hear about your experience, mine has been singular as I took delivery just yesterday. Was bummed out not to see Carplay in the menu. Google has been failing me in peak traffic as well, hope Delhi govt can get stalled or delayed projects in motion again.

It's already scraping against the front bumper during turns, and for now, the dealer trimmed a bit of the bumper to accommodate it, but I'm not happy with this setup. The dealer is willing to change it but insists that any aftermarket alloy will require at least a 10mm offset. I'm trying to figure out the best way forward. Are there any aftermarket alloys that don’t require spacers, aside from the OEM ones?

I have installed Fuel Vector 18" on my vehicle (AX7L 4WD AT). They required 25mm spacers to be installed.
We had to trim the bumper and the fender lining a bit for the tyre not to scrape while turning.

The 17" Fuel Vectors, due to its negative offset are the only option right now that would work without the spacers - As informed by Pahiya 4X4 here in Gurugram.

Hi, no, Gmaps view is NOT available on digital cluster, only MapMyIndia. For me Gmaps offers better estimates than the in-built one. AX5L user was lucky to get Carplay working at the time of delivery.

Same here, I don't like the idea of spacers. Since you haven't trimmed the bumpers, I'm not sure how you're managing it. I've heard this setup avoids warranty, right?

Have you already sold your OEM alloys? I'd probably go to that set up instead of this. I don't think a 17" alloy is an option for me right now. I have 32 mm spacers; I didn't have to trim the bumper much with Fuel Contra.

Would love to see some pictures if you haven't already shared. Thanks!

I am aware that legally metal bumpers are not allowed but what are the realistic chances of getting fined for it? I see that it is a common modification on Thar and the internet is full of videos with them. I quite liked how the car looks with the ProMan bumper and even ADAS works. Also, if tyres stick out a little after using spacers then is that illegal too?

Finally the Mocha Brown interior Roxx started reaching dealership I guess. Here is a video showcasing the same.

I have been using google maps on the digital cluster on my AX7L. You just need to put google maps on the infotainment screen then select navigation on digital cluster. Works like a charm. Can even make it full screen by long pressing the enter button on the steering

My main concern is the mileage, as I plan to use it as my primary car. On average, I will be driving around 1,000 km per month, with about 500 km per month in bumper-to-bumper traffic in Hyderabad. What mileage are you getting?

I’ve driven it close to 2000 km. In Bengaluru’s bumper to bumper traffic, I’m getting 7.6-7.7 kmpl. Even on highways, I’m getting close to 8 kmpl.

I checked with my dealer in Hyderabad. No update at their end even as of today.

The mocha brown interior color looks very similar the one used in Scorpio-N.

This will definitely reduce white seat getting soiled issue. The issue I felt with Thar Roxx white colored seats getting dirty easily was because of softer seat material as compared to the seat material of XUV700. What remains to be seen is whether Mahindra has manufactured Mocha seats with same material used in Scorpio-N or is the softer material used in Thar Roxx with different color.

The liner is still whitish, so keeping liner clean and spotless is still a challenge to especially when the car is sent for servicing.
