Hi, was the fog lamp fitting done by the dealer using the original Mahindra spare? If that is the case is this feature Now activated in mx3 fron the lights stalk in the steering?

Yes, fog fitting was done by the dealer using original Mahindra relay but the fog lamp is switched on by parking lights switch instead of original fog switch in the steering. We can't switch off fog lights when headlights are on ! They still don't have clarity on how to enable fog lamp by original switch.

Spoke to dealer on this issue and they suggested me to install a separate fog switch somewhere below steering so that i can switch off fog lamp when headlights/parking lights are on. Will rather wait for enabling fog lamp by original switch.

I have a 2019 Creta 1.6 diesel manual, covered around 66000km, in perfect showroom condition, driven mostly on the highway, long drives stretching upto 8-10 hours sometimes, but due to increasing traffic even in the smaller towns, wanted to change to an automatic. Booked the Thar Roxx AX7L battleship grey, 4x4, with mocha brown interior, online on 3rd October 2024, the expected date of delivery, as given by Mahindra, is 3rd June to 3rd July, 2025. Have taken multiple test drives, but for small distances of 5-7km, the driver seat comfort of the Thar Roxx does not appear to be as good as the Creta, for a 6 footer. The seats appear to be smaller even than the Creta, the footwell is narrower, I was not able to achieve a comfortable driving position, when I try to make my legs comfortable by moving the seat backwards, the steering becomes too far (no reach/telescopic adjustment), and when I try to keep the steering at a comfortable distance, the comfort of the legs is gone. I am in a dilemma whether to keep the booking or cancel it. A query for those having driven Thar Roxx and Creta/Seltos, how is the comfort of the Roxx compared to the Korean duo, specially on long drives. Looking for response from the owners as well as the senior Bhpians, thanks in advance.

Have used Seltos GTX DAT for 25k kms, and driven the Roxx DAT for ~300kms. Seltos had a snug fit seat, better wrap aound. Roxx- I had to fiddle around to get the right position. Also felt that Seltos seat adjustment range was better.

Roxx support and cushioning is decent, with the seat material rather soft compared to Seltos. Positionally- the higher seating in Roxx compensates by aiding visibility. Seltos- longest I have driven was 1100kms in a day, and on few long drive occasions, I had to tweak the setting, as my right thigh felt sore.

Take another Roxx test drive on roads which are potholed, you can experience the seat support during roll/movement. Ensure tyres are not inflated crazy high. Would advise you to keep the booking, as cancellation can be done anytime till delivery.

The issue with using the Parking lamp button is that the ICE screen including maps etc. goes to dark mode, as the system thinks it is night time. This is distracting and lowers visibility during day-time driving with fog lamps on. Ideal solution is for M&M to activate the already existing fog lamp switch in the cluster. If they do not, the latter solution you provided is better than using the parking light button. Perhaps one of the dummy buttons in the cluster on the on the right of the dash can be used.

Is the difference in the design of the front and rear brakes applicable across all models? Also, I'm assuming you meant 32 mm and 22 mm? Or is it 25 mm? Please confirm.

It should be the same if all have rear brakes. 22 is what I have got and the minimum. This is a "must' on the front, but on the rear ones, If someone finds the wheels coming out too much, one can mount without spacers.

I am not sure about the track width on the front and rear, but I recollect that the rears without spacers did not look out of place. I need to measure certain other things but have been occupied with so many things.

Any reason why you decided to mount the rear with the spacer? I currently have 32mm spacers on all four wheels, with a -10 offset, and it is a nightmare to use in Bangalore traffic. 22mm in the front and running without spacers in the rear would be ideal, but I'm a nob when it comes to this and unsure how to go about this, and if it's a better setup than what I am currently running.

I think only the automatic and top-end models have rear disc brakes; that's why I was wondering if you went with a 22mm and 32mm setup.

Whats the situation with Waiting period for Roxx. Is there any variant that one can realistically expect to get in 3-4 months?

Most of my other cars have a staggered setup lol:

Why? Don't you enjoy being 'Thalaiva" !! At least here in Gurgaon, this is the safest and the only vehicle to which even auto-rickshaws show some respect! Use the protuded rubber as protection!!

No harm in having a shorter rear track width; even McLaren F1 has one :p

I haven't gone into details, the only reason I use my Roxx on my home to office commute of less than 3 km ( but occasionally 20 minutes) is that it helps in control of my Blood Pressure!!

(I wish I could use more smileys in this post.)

Haha! I'd rather be Thalaiva inside than outside. Jokes aside, it's the 2 wheelers that I'm more worried about than the auto rickshaws. My preference would have been 10mm spacer, but as you said, the minimum is likely to be 22mm.

I wish my work commute was 3km as well! But I'm going to be doing a lot of highway runs, and hence, I wasn't sure what setup would be apt at high speeds. When you find time to experiment, please keep us posted.

So how are these Karol Bagh guys doing it with the actual fog lamp buttons?

As you can see at 3:06 mark, the headlights are on, but the dog lamps are switched on/off separately. Yes, it's controlled by actual fog switch.

Just got a call from my dealer in Mumbai (Mulund) that my car is allotted. It is well before the earlier timeline of Apr-May 2025. I was in two minds though and was about to cancel the booking. I was going to take it under company lease, though wanted delivery in FY25 as it would have been the best wrt taxes, which is the case now.

But I hadn't planned for this early a delivery (funds wise), so there is a high chance I might cancel and see later. I don't know how it works but if any of you is interested and they can allot it to you, you can DM me. In case I end up cancelling that is.

Model - AX7L D AT, Red, Mocha interiors.

Can you please let me know when did you make this booking? Just trying to understand when I can expect to have my vehicle allotted. I booked AXL7 4x4 D AT on Jan 8.

I had done it within the first few seconds of bookings opening in Oct (Oct 3 I think?). But cause it was Mocha, I got a Apr-May 2025 tentative date.

It looks really good. Subtle and tasteful. Great job refraining from overdoing it.

On a general note - We all hated the odd kink of metalwork over the rear door. The easy fix is to have a vinyl based sticker or paint that odd bit in the same color as the roof.

However, I haven't seen anybody fix the oddity. Did everybody just get used to it?

My payment went through in the first 2 minutes when booking commenced on 3rd October 2024. I was also given this April First week to May First week delivery timeline for 4*4 in Mocha interiors. Your message gives me a ray of hope for early delivery

Neon Motors Chandanagar told me couple of weeks ago that MX5 Black colour is available for 1 day delivery. You may check for MX5 variants if you want quick delivery
