Saw a Manza cab yesterday.
Has Manza made it to the yellow-board list in tata dealerships?

Considering the long wheelbase of Manza (2520 MM), a Manza CS seems unlikely. Indigo CS wheelbase is only 2450 MM.

Merely cutting the tail will not make the Manza under 4m length. If they 'cut' it that much, it will become the original hatch version - the Vista. To make it a 'CS', they may need to cut the nose also :)

Tata need to use a 1.2L Petrol engine also to get the excise benefit, which will definitely downgrade the 'Manza' brand name. Can any one think of an SX4 'CS' version with a 1.2L engine?

So, please Tata, say tata to this idea.

Come to think of it, if they keep the wheelbase the same as that of Vista (2470 MM), Manza CS might just be possible. I believe the Manza uses a longer front bumper so that too could be replaced. Instead of a conventional three box, they could consider a notchback a la Accent Viva or Skoda Octavia if that helps in reducing length.

By the way, is there any news of Manza station wagon?

I do not think it is a very good idea. Instead they should comeup with nano based sedan under 4m.

OH! how disheartening. Manza too in taxi segment. Anyways, even in India, Corrolla's BMWs and Mercks are being used as taxis. So dont worry. Ofcourse their percentage is fractional.

You were right drsnt. There was no problem with the cooling system of the car. There was a problem with the earth connection which fixed three problems in my car. Temp meter gauge was misbehaving, internal lights were flickering and RPM meter was misbehaving. As of now there are no issues. It took TASS 6 hours to fix this. I won't blame them for time as they were doing to work in very methodical way. For the help of other members in forum, let me explain what happened.

The temp meter in my Feb 2010 manza was going into the red zone. When I observed this for first time, assuming the car was overheating, I turned off the engine and opened the bonnet. It was all normal in there. Water/coolant full, no steam, engine temp seemed okay (to my hands of course), no smoke or smell. Then why was the needle in red? I cranked the car in idle while the bonnet was still open. The needle was still above the half mark and engine sound was fine but fan radiator did not start. At that temp, I expected the fan to start in high speed. I turned on the AC and both fans started. Went to office and parked the car. Next saturday went to TASS. Till then drove only with AC on.

They first connected the OBD tool to read the actual water temp. To our surprise, the water temp after some high revs was only 97-98 while the temp guage was going in red. At about 99 the fans also started and now the guage was at the end of red. So we knew that the engine is fine, the car actually never got heated, it was the guage acting up. It was a good releif for me! Now the temp meter could be going wrong either due to bad temp sensor or bad meter iself. They first changed the temp sensor but the problem remained, then also changed the meter, still the problem remained. Finally it turned out to be faulty earthing connection which caused this. I had also seen the internal car lights flickering which I reported to them. That also got fixed after fixing the earthing. RPM meter in the car used to fluctuate sometime, which has not happened for few days now. At the start up, the ABS light used to remain on for 10-15 secs earlier. I used to this that may be ECU takes time to ensure ABS system is fine. Also it used to go off after 10-15 secs so I did not bother earlier. After fixing the earthing, it goes off in 1-2 secs.

Sorry for technical info here but wanted to share the details so they can help others. I did not think one earthing issue could cause so much problem and make us feel that engine is overheating.

The Manza sounds like a nice car from the review. Only thing is the image of the Indigo cars.

there seems to be a new colour - 'skyline blue'. this wasnt available when i TDed last month. the SP was pushing for the colour 'grey nair' (her words not mine!)
has anyone seen the blue colour in person yet? it seems to be darker than the oyster blue of the SX4

A problem-
Whenever i press the BT button to link my bb with the car bluetooth it shows on the system- the bluetooth link is busy and you may press escape to exit. Cant figure out the issue. Kindly help!

Dear harry10, I had also encountered this issue on several occasions, although not on BB but on a normal Nokia handset. It has nothing to do with type of phone instrument at all but i presume some linkage/connect issue between the handset & the BT. The only way i am able to sort this out is switch off the ignition completely, take out the key, come out of the BT setting on my handset, get into the BT mode again on the handset, then insert the key & start the ignition. The BT would now ask for a permission to connect or probably the pairing password. Then on it will get connected automatically. It's slightly long procedure, but it seems to work everytime & it's still better than going through the agony of having a full fledged BT system at your service not being able to utilise it.

Dear IIoydofcochin, i have had a 20k service done recently. Oil change required is appr 4.5 lit ( @ rs 1000/- a lit) + fuel filter & the total cost is around 5500/-, but i drive a saffire 90 ( petrol ) & hope for QJD cost should not differ by much.

For Tata Manza Quadrajet, at 20K Km service, oil change, fuel filter, oil filter, Air filter, wheel balancing all will cost around Rs. 7500/-
Wheel alignment is done free. The oil used is synthetic, so it costs around Rs. 1000/- per litre.

During the third service I have changed the engine oil for my qudrajet by taking GTO's feedback on the forum. It took 3.2 litres of Mobile 1 0W-40. Oil costed me 3268Rs(including the VAT) and Oil filter was 329.41. Notably they also charged a labour amount of 189 Rs. The service was done at St.Antonys Kottayam . It was okay but nothing compared to the service experience I normally encounter with KHT Motors, Bangalore.
