On a one to one comparison to Vista VX /ZX What are the additional features Manza Aura ABS and Elan models come with?

The Price of Manza Aura ABS is 7.08L and Elan is 7.7L while compared to Vista VX@ 5.5L and Vista ZX 6.1L

The price difference is over 1.5L between Vista VX/ZX and Manza Aura ABS/ Elan. This gives a feeling that Manza is overpriced tome.

So now we feel that the lowest priced c segment vehicle too is more expensive. We just dont let a TATA charge for what the specs read.

The again since the manza did better than the vista in the last few months (except the last one) TATA requires to price the vista more aggressively than the Manza.

Let me put it another way;
Tata need to upgrade Manza features to the level of new Vista and the price difference shouldnt be more than at the most 50K between manza & vista model on model

Question to all Manza owners

Does the car crouch badly with 5 people in the car and with some luggage in the boot? I have seen some Manza moving on the road with full load as if they are towed away with the rear 2 quarters actually being dragged. Does the Manza hit the bumps on the road, due to its feather-soft suspensions?

The Manza already has all the features of the Vista. Tata recently upgraded the Vista by adding features and equipment from the Manza.

And why would Tata charge just 50k more for the Manza when the Vista is eligible for a lower tax bracket than the Manza? Already one can buy a diesel Manza for the same price as one would pay for most of the competition's petrol sedans. I don't understand the logic.

?? - The Manza and Vista features already match - The new Vista only matches the manza features - hence the play on the words "Sedan Class".

The rear boot would not cost just 50K more expecially considering the difference in Excise slabs of the two cars. 1.25L is the min cost difference that we should expect but since the manza is the already lowest priced in it's segment and beyond and sells quite well. TATA can rightly price it a bit better (I mean higher - better for TATA nor us). It does need to make a bit more money on some products. :)

VeluM - Thanks for the clarification.

Yes it does if it has 5 people and boot loaded with luggage, unless you cross the bumps at an angle slowly.

Just took a ride in a colleagues Figo Titanium diesel. This is one Low Car! The bottom scraped over some of the speed breakers in our office complex. They're not very well designed (short & sharp), but I've carried more people in my Spark and it hasn't scraped anywhere. There were only three of us in the Figo, averaging around 80kg each.

I've seen Manzas with 5 aboard and boot stuffed, and the tail does tend to sag. I think GTO's suspension fix take care of this issue, if placed to be used only at near full-compression.

PS. Is it worth shelling out another 50k for an after-market setup in the Manza? Would it make this not-so-driver-oriented car any better?

Here is the latest ad video for the Tata Manza. Better than the previous one IMO.

The difference between top-end Vista & top-end Manza (approx 7L on road & 9L on road) is:

1. Big nice boot
2. Same engine but WITH VGT (Variable Geometry Turbo) + 90 PS power
3. Interiors - NO centre console
4. Alloy wheels

Thats about it.

Yes, TATA can & maybe should reduce the price of the Manza by about 25k.
Without cutting costs .... (this is something that no one here has pointed out - some things that have gone missing).

I will mention every detail in my ownership report of the Elan Celebration Edition.

I am currently compiling it.

It will be ready by this weekend.

In the 9 lakh onroad price of Manza above, have you considered the 50K discounts being offered currently?

I considered my Celebration Edition (actually my mistake)
Which is 9,13,874 Rs on-road.
- 20k discount.

While the actual top-end variant.
The ELAN Quadrajet 90
(Burgundy beige dashboard, no leather seats, no parking sensors)
which SHOULD have been compared viz-a-viz the Vista top-end
is

8,93,854 Rs. on -road Mumbai registration.

- discounts (varies dealer to dealer)

I am not aware of the 50,000 discount as mentioned by you - if that is true !
WOAH ! I paid a hell lot for my celebration edition !
;)

But no regrets .... Again as I shall mention in my post.

Which I solemnly swear to post by this weekend anyhow.

&
now ...
my latest love
(yet un-named)

Tata Indigo Manza Elan Quadrajet 'Celebration Edition'.
1st Car of the 1000 produced.

No editing - RAW files. No modifications.
Shot with a Nikon P&S (Coolpix S210 - 2 yrs old camera)

I have more than 250 pics of my Manza so far.
(Yes, I do treat my car as a subject for a photoshoot - & yes, I say goodnight to it as well and apologize when I take it over a bad unexpected crater - calling them potholes now is an insult to potholes)

I hope THESE qualify.
If not - I shall be going on some nice trips soon & will hope to click some good ones there.
(waiting for the running in period of 1000kms to get over)

Nice photos, loved the celebration edition emblem/logo, looks majestic. The dash photos could have been better with a DSLR in my opinion, where one can manually focus on the subject. The point & shoot camera cannot take very clear close-ups & the subject often gets blurred. Couple of days back when my car crossed the 1 lakh km milestone I captured the odo reading in my Nikon S2500. However despite repeated attempts I could not capture sharp figures & they often got blurred as the auto-focus provided little help.

Nevertheless thanks for sharing the pictures, enjoy your car. Haven't you started your ownership thread yet. If yes, then can you post the thread link over here?
