Woah!! That design really looks fab. I've always maintained that with the current manza the proportions have gone for a toss. This though looks absolutely neat and pleasant.

Those tail lamps though remind of the ones on Altis.

Kudos to whoever is responsible for this artistic impression of the manza CS.

Yes, I meant to say notchback. My feeling is that a notchback Manza + Manza sedan with slightly better put together interiors (read - longer lasting, better quality) would do wonders for the sales graph.

When I was in the market for a 7 lakh rupee sedan last month, I took a hard look at the Manza - everything seems to be in order except for the interior build quality. Somehow it didnt inspire confidence that it would last more than a couple of years without parts falling off, paint chipping off etc. To compare, all you need to do is see a 2005/6 honda City/Corolla. 4 years of hard use hardly shows.

Can any of the Manza Diesel owners from north help me with what's the operating temp of their cars now in winters even after a couple of hours drive? I am asking this is because I think the air dam in the front is taking in a lot of cold air when the car is moving and it keeps the car fairly cold even after a couple of hours. Please see the pic below. The original pic is where my car's temp guage used to be in summers and I have marked a line in red of where it usually is now even after long drive. If I keep the car idle for a few miutes the temp guage does go to the next mark (25% level) but within minutes after I start moving and gain speeds in excess of 30 or so it comes down to the marked level. That's making me think it is due to the cold air coming in from the front when car moves. In the Delhi cold, now a days it iakes about 8-9 km's for the temp needle to move from bottom and another 4-5 km's to come to the level I marked. Is that normal? I have seen the taxi guys pasting a newspaper or something in the front to avoid cold air coming into the radiator, did not think why they do it.

I might be overly worried, but thought of checking as I do not want to run the car below normal operating temp for long. Please share your experience.

@amit1234singla - the engine is supposed to have a cooler bypass valve, that allows the coolant to circulate through the radiator only after the coolant has attained a minimum pre-determined termperature. Check whether that is functional. If its malfunctioning, its letting the coolant into the radiator pre-maturely, which then cools it and does not allow it to reach optimum operating temperature at the earliest

An indigo CS with an Octavia / Laura like Hatch / notch back design would be superb and should boost sales even more.

The Front aria type lights on the CS rendition look nice - of course they need to be smaller than in the Aria though they can be of a similar design.

The Rear looks too conservative and a Laura like rear glass swoop would make it more attractive.

Well, well, well.. our Manza QJD (Aura ABS) completed 25k km's today.clap:
We picked her up on 1st Feb last year, just about a year back. Quick summary of the last 25k km's.

- 6 TASS visits
- Rs.6.5k maintenance cost (mainly engine oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter)
- Average mileage of ~18 (50% local, 50% highway)

4 of 6 TASS visits were for free services. Once I had to go to get front suspension rubber bushes checked/ changed. And once to get an electical problem solved (loose earth connection). Overall, very happy. She is behaving just as we expected her to (or better). Not really a driver's car when it comes to handling and gear shifts, but a perfect, comfortable VFM family car.

PS - I owe an apology to our car and all T-BHP friends for not being able to strat an ownership thread. She certainly deserved that. Will do so soon.

Just test drove the Quadrajet yesterday.

The car feels like so non Tata.

Superb pickup and absolutely no NVH at all.
In fact the TD vehicle had already clocked some 22K odd kilometers but did not feel any rattles.

Manza is most certainly a superior product from Tata.
