Hello, has the reverse judder gone away permanently? I am experiencing exactly the same thing lately (post monsoon, in case that's related). SOMETIMES after being but in R, releasing brakes, moving a bit and braking again, the car judders violently.

This issue is tricky to reproduce consistently, so I have not taken it to service center yet.

I have found that shifting to N from D at the traffic lights has helped reducing the judder apart from greasing the calipers and cleaning the brakes. See if doing this makes any difference for your car.

According to you shifting to N during traffic stops prevents judder while reversing the way I have described?

Re: Maruti Suzuki A-Star Auto - Road Test

I just got an 86K done A-star Automatic for my wife who is learning to drive. The car itself is in good shape except for the missing volume knob which I think is a weak point for all A-stars. I was searching for the owner's manual for the car. I couldn't find one. Does anybody have a PDF?

That’s a good AT with decent build, drivability & FE.
Which year is it & what price you paid for it ?

2013 model. I bought it from a true-value dealer. It is a non-TV certified vehicle and they charged 265K total including RC change and some goodies.

Suggest get the ATF changed. It's 10 years plus with the original oil.

Yes indeed. Almost all A stars I have seen have the volume knob broken off. Mine had it till recently but it broke off when my son was fiddling with it.

I don't think you will find the same knob as a spare. I saw a similar knob listed on boodmo. Ordered it, but seems they didn't have it (never got shipped) so had to cancel the order.

Best option is to get a volume control knob from any electronic spares shop (have to hunt around to find one that fits). I did the same and now I have a knob that works fine (albeit black in colour).

I too have ordered one from boodmo. Let see. It is actually not important as my wife is learning to drive and she prefers silence to focus

Great to know Boodmo has it in stock. I will order one for mine right-away
P.S: On a different note, Boodmo just refunded about 1.6k which was for my Esteem OE LHS mirror. The order was in progress for more than 2 months and finally not fulfilled.

Re: Maruti Suzuki A-Star Auto - Road Test

Almost 9 years now, the Yoko Earth-1's finally replaced with MRF ZLX's of same size ( 175/65/R14). The tyres had become hard and at least 2 had uneven wear. I am aware that tyres should be replaced before it is too late, but the car isnt used much and always at sedate speeds. Most of the time it's a 18 km round trip that my wife does.

The Yoko's really lasted and very few punctures. Replacement done at Tyre Professionals, Basavanagudi, BLR. Manju and the boys there ever helpful, and made the whole process easy.
