From what I gather the block should be painted in 'chassis red' or redox. The head remains in bare metal, the tappet cover in glossy black. There are some covers on the side which are possibly silver, yet to confirm. The oil filter is in a light yellow with a red top. Pictures as work progresses.

Yes, This is exactly thhe combination that is there on all my cars. Well, except the tappet cover. Also, is ravi talking about Canopus Apt.?? If yes, @ravi, did you see those two beautifull 118NEs there?? :D:D

It was picked up last year by an enthusiast who gave it to me to sort out a few issues, and since then has forgotten to collect it:D Its still very restorable, but many original bits like the wheels have gone missing. The MHP is not a Super Select but an imported 1100 Export which belongs to yours truly. I plan a few tasteful period upgrades on this one though.

Wow, is this enthusiast likely to forget it period ?? In that case..
Imported 1100 sounds very very interesting, and a well kept secret :D. Hmmm I'll need to visit this "location" again, it looks like. But worry not Karlos - my lips are sealed !

'was passing by this road on my way home this afternoon, and stopped on the spot seeing this lovely select ('first thought it was a super-select because of the tail-lights and fuel-tank lid, until I went closer)
'met the owner who was sitting inside the car then. Chatted a while with him about the car, then he consented to let me take pics.
It's been a one-family owned car since new! And almost 100% original.

I was going to tell him about team bhp but he seemed in a hurry to leave then. However we did exchange contact nos. so 'would hopefully get a chance to meet him again sometime.

Its a great tone of happiness to always see a Italian Handmade Fiat and that too in our Hyderabad.
I wish i could acquire this beauty.

What a lovely select.. restored my faith in God !! Do I see aluminium door handles ??
Befriend the guy Shyam, maybe the Hyd chapter of the FCCCI can begin no wot ? :thumbs up

Ahh! alrite.
I that heard from my mechie, when I asked him to keep an eye for a 59' model for me.

I am not a great fan of FIAT. but I was wondering what does Super Select in this particular model mean? i mean any particular reason that they named it such.

The super select was the model which came after the select, in 1962. It had a quarter glass for the front windows, a different grille, and other trim bits. More about them here:http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/vintag...tml#post264501

The Select had a two piece Taillight.
Like the one Below.

Whilst the Super Select had the Standard Three Piece Taillight.

Also, The selects had the elegant Elegant tpe fuel filler with the pipe and locking mechanism sticking outside. Whereas, the Super Select had the Fuel Flap.
