Thanks for the reply Priyadarshan

Budget as low as possible i guess

A few pics might help.

These are rare to find. Shame they didn't pick up in India.

Sorry no pics.. the vehicles are in partially dismantled condition and whatever left is burried under other classics and spares. When observed from close distance you can make out two frames, thats it. but i will keep an eye on them.

Laxmi 48

Hello,

Does anyone know any history of the Laxmi 48 moped manufactured by Kirloskar - Ghatge Patil joint venture sometime during 70's. Especially the manufacturing years and models. Does anybody know of any Laxmi fo sale?

Re: Looking for classic mopeds

Yeah...I guess so, but quite a few were sold, so I guess most of them must have been scrapped by now..

Re: Looking for classic mopeds

Sadly yes. Most of them were scrapped. Mostly because of unavailability of parts. I saw myself one going into the ground slowly just near my house, though the owner wouldnt sell it.

Here is a link for this Moped.

The Hindu : Metro Plus Chennai / Wheels : My dear Laxmi

"A. Janarthana Rao can’t get enough of Laxmi. In his verandah, he has parked three examples of the 48cc Laxmi, which is in every sense the 48cc moped Lambretta manufactured from 1959 to 1966, primarily for the Italian army. Much after the 39cc Lambrettino had put this army moped out of the production line, Kirloskar Ghatge Patil Auto Limited (KGP) revived it with an Indian name from its Kolhapur plant."
