I think stock. Accessories if any, were not much back in the days. These are the older models.

This is described as a picnic in India, 1957. Apologize if posted before.
Please note the shine on the painting, although black shade gets best of shine even today.
But in this picture the shine, that too on ICI, DUCO painting with emprol brand NC thinners, and then almost like wet sand rubbing compound of waxpol brand

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

Another filmy Amby, posting here to note that lovely period accessory badge on the grille. We usually seen much smaller ones or V shaped ones (I have one on my car). The popular ones were branded 'Luxury', distributed in Bombay by Pramashaw Automobiles.

Original seat covers found almost intact under the old covers of my sidevalve Ambassador.

Decide to go ahead and change the body colour and some mechanical works also were done. Dual tone will be done post the Fitness Certificate test.

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

Brought the car home last Saturday as lockdown was announced from Sunday onwards. Few more finishing touches left.

The Ambassador never came from the factory with fintails. This must have been custom made to look like other foreign imports which had them in that era.

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

Here's an Ambassador parked along the road in Yelahanka, Bangalore. This is by the local corporation, yet to be unveiled. Someone pulled off the cover recently.

Earlier the Ordnance Factory, Medak, AP (now in Telangana) had almost a monopoly for doing this job for government vehicles used by VVIP's. Their website mentions this fact in the second para.

https://ofb.gov.in/units/OFPM

Lately, many private firms have also come up, who have such expertise. Bullet proofing and armour plating these days are quite lucrative businesses.
