Yes. The fact has already been mentioned in the original post.

Apart from the above, the arrow denotes a sign for the govt(defence) vehicle. The arrow denotes the presence of defence forces from the deep sea to the sky.

The letter 'B' after the year of commissioning denotes the type(in this case, it is a wheeled vehicle) of the vehicle.

A very neatly restored old Ambassador seen at the Statesman V&C Rally in Kolkata during January 2023.

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

Supreme Court Chief Justice DY Chandrachud (Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud) said that he used that classic model car a lot at a young age. In his words, "I used to drive a 1966 model Ambassador car. I used to take seniors on long routes in that car. So that I could learn the logic of law better by talking to them." Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud spoke about his multiple experiences as a young lawyer at the SCBA event.

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

A grim picture of the state of the sarkari Ambassadors. As the years roll by, the Ambys make way for new Scorpios, Innovas, Honda Citys, Ciazs and others. But where do the old Ambys go? Most can be seen languishing abandoned, rotting away. Here, you can see 3 cars, one from Shillong, one from Guwahati and one from Delhi. All 3 are different generations, but seem to be meeting the same fate. The Shillong car seems like a Mark-IV that has had extensive modifications, such as the floor gear and the exterior trims from later models. The Assam car is a 2005 model and is a diesel. The Delhi car at the end is the very last of the Amby series, the Grand.

The modded mark-IV from Shillong:

The 2005 diesel from Assam:

And the Grand from Delhi:

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

Floor shift was a factory option on Mark 4 ambassadors.
I had a 1982 mark 4, on which I asked for this and paid HM two hundred and fifty rupees
The car was delivered new with this, factory fitted .

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

Spotted this super-duper scale model of the HM Ambassador at the T2 terminal. I appreciate how it was created, and placed within the classy airport. Would love something like this for my home.

Including a picture with the dude in the background to give size reference.

Even today, the Amby commands a presence. The instrument console looks modern enough, the two spoke ateering wheel doesnt look out of place, and the seats - most comfortable. One of them even has some spare spark plugs in the right side glove box.
Wish authorities at least auction them off so that some enthusiast can take one/many as a project car. It would give an enthusiast immense satisfaction in doing the car up and using.

Wow! Where exactly is this placed? I keep transiting through T2 and it would be nice to see this when I'm there next.

The dirty boarding gates a level below the usual. Number 45, you have to take a lift to get there.

Re: Landmaster And Ambassador Picture Gallery

Image shared by Mr Indrajit Roy on Ambassador and Landmaster FB page. The Landmaster owned by the Government of West Bengal is a common sight on the streets of Kolkata. Its all praises to the particular department under the Government of West Bengal that has till this day kept the car running despite multiple odds faced, especially by government departments in providing due and proper care to old cars.

Here is an ambulance body built on the drive away chassis of 1974, taken from the factory brochure. Unfortunately this is all I have.
