A very well written, short tribute on its 50th birthday to the family owned, good ol' Ambassador of actor Divesh Mirchandani, posted by him. The Instagram post is shared by Mr Manoj Kumar on Ambassador and Landmaster FB page.

And the grand old lady completed 50 glorious years this week❤️❤️❤️

So many memories!!! Where to begin? Remember the time when I was only four, and you were white, how you accomodated all the furniture and all my teddies, as we shifted from Goa to Mumbai? Or how about the time when you were maroon, and my entire U-12 football team fitted comfortably as you took us for our MSSA football match? Or when I would know dad has come to pick me up today from school when I would hear the roar of your engine from my third floor classroom, even as you entered Gamadia Road. Or maybe when I was 13, and you were Prussian blue, and you picked me up after my 3 week stay at Breach Candy Hospital after my spine surgery. Or when you were royal green, and you took me to my convocation where I held my engineering degree. Or the many thousands of dinner conversations revolving around you, about how four generations of the Mirchandanis have sat on your most comfortable sofa seat. That feeling of warmth and comfort....they honestly don't make them like you anymore.

So many beautiful memories. ❤️❤️

Thank you dear Ambassador for being such a major part of my life❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Sprucing up of a 1974 Single Owner Amby

My late uncle's Ambassador, in Trivandrum has been spruced up a bit prior to fitness passing

The process was carried out by his son-in-law. Had a lot of help from TBHPians Ajay, Anjan, Srinand and Pankaj (Bulletboy)

Process is almost complete. Few final tweaks pending

Best Regards & Drive Safe

Nice to see a single owner Mark II coming back to life. Is the car having original petrol engine? Can you post some interior pics as well?

Couple of Mark 3s from 1979 Malayalam movie Manasa Vacha Karmana. One has registration KLZ 1000. I used to see KLE 1000 Mark 1 Ambassador in Panampilly Nagar, Kochi until late 2000. This link shows KLK 1000 getting restored - https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/vinta...ml#post5047643 (Classics of Travancore, Cochin and Malabar)

Yes it has the original Petrol engine for now - It has reasonable compression in three cylinders only and hence loosing a lot of oil and heavy on petrol consumption. Thinking of sourcing a newer petrol engine and inserting.

When I am with the car next time will do some more pics of interior. Unfortunately the OE Steering wheel had developed cracks at some point and my uncle had it replace with a Nova one. Otherwise its in its original trim

A lot of efforts by you have gone into getting your car back in original condition, which is a giant step taken. The older OHV engines are still available for resale. Even a new or used steering in good condition can come by after some search.

Restoration is a continuous process and takes a lot of time and efforts that an individual may not be able to devote at one go. Hence, the best option is to let the process move on step by step.
