Would actually like to have a detailed separate thread on the restoration of your beauty.

If possible, please do post the phase wise restoration along with pics (If available) and also the interior pics as suggested by everyone.

Hi 350biker,

Thank you for your kind message and also Pavan Kadam and so many others.

I shall surely make a new thread that will include showing most of the replaced parts and sub assemblies all the way up to its final finishing.

Please do bear with me as I am in Europe on work and will be back to India by mid next month.

Many sugestions that were given were very usefull and I thank our BHPians for all your support.

I stumbled upon this thread while doing a search. It such a delight to see a car like this. A W123 300d is one of my favorites and this a one of the best examples I have seen. Kudos to you. I definitely dream of owning one too.
I would need your advice on getting my 190 petrol 1987 model back to it's pristine condition. Please let me know the mechanic details and place where the body work and paint was done. If not able to post here - please PM, thanks.

Hi Vinodac,

My Mechanic is "Kevin" and his number is 09035697442. He works at your Home and has places where he does the Body work and painting.

Since he does only one job at one time, please call him and show the Car and get his quotation.

BTW: Kevin was with Mercedes Benz for 35 years and now does only referred cars from his clients. Please tell him that Harshad gave you this number.

Superb work buddy. Your dedication and love just shows in the outcome. These machines are practically indestructible, have enough power and will serve you very very well even if used as a daily drive. Congrats on a great job done. Now enjoy her, dont keep her locked up in a garage.

simply wow, this is what I want to drive when I turn 50 and am sure such examples will be running till then too.

I would ask this to you (harshad) or Gogi sir, what are those badges on the front of your car, whats the significance of each of those. Can you provide info on those? I have seen similar ones on two mercs back in US recently.
