What size did you pick? The regular size as your sports shoes or formals or 1 size smaller. How does it feel while riding, specially during gear shifts. Please do tell in some detail. |
I am also in same boat. I am looking for Size 7/41 in complete black but this is available only on Neon and Red which I am not a big fan of. But the offer is quite tempting and thinking if I have to compromise on the colour.
Any recommendation on good riding boots under similar price range of 6 - 8k?

There are too many and then there is no boot that outstands to clear the confusion. For good safety, one needs full sized leather made boots having at least the standard toe, heel and ankle protectors. I didn’t come across any boot in this price range that is full size (or at least mid-rise) with proper details on where and what armours are fitted and what certification is obtained. The few ones that are suggested on forums, social media etc are Gadsyll G-star 9 or 11, Amaroq Valiant (looks ugly to me) Cramster Flux (boot height seems not enough and usually remains out of stock) and RE E39. Of these, at least RE looks clean and nice and brand has reputation (=reliability?) but is usually priced at 9-10k. So, at 7k it seems quite a good deal and that’s why the temptation.

Finally the temptation was irresistible and purchased RE E-39 riding boots rl:. Complete black one for my size was not available online. I called my bike dealer
and luckily they had the stock. I asked them to block it till afternoon and during lunch break I went to try it (showroom is just 2 km from my office).
Initially sales person gave me short length shoes and I almost took it home but when I cross checked and got the midrise. Apart from ankle length, there is hardly any difference. Showroom gave me same discount as online (INR 6990), but didn't give any warranty quoting there are no warranty on discounted items :Frustrati.
Even the regular warranty is 6 months, so I took the risk and purchased it.
Initial impression
a) Quality and finishing is good
b) As the fastening is through zipper and velcro, it is bit loose at the top. But while I was riding bike for first time wearing it, that gap helped me in ankle movement. Also this might help in tucking my riding pant inside .
c) While trying the shoes I noticed that the shoes is 2023 manufactured. But still went for it. Hope I wont repent my decision.
I even tried RE Wanderer boots , but it was not not available in my size and also sole was pretty stiff and did not feel much comfortable. So did not consider it.

Thanks a lot for all the input. The price I saw of 7K is mentioned for mid-rise variant. Here’s the link: https://store.royalenfield.com/en/e-...-45-uk-1-black
Also, as far as I could check, they just mention “Conforms to high safety standard”. I couldn’t find details on where they have used armours and of which brand or standard. They look sturdy though and it is my choice due to its clean look. I will now definitely check it on RE store for size and fit and maybe then order online.
Thanks again. Cheers! |
Looks like RE have slashed the price considerably on this. I am feeling a bit silly for paying close to 11K for it. At 7k, this is a no brainer.
I remember when i was researching this shoes, the website had more details on the certification and protection but now, they just have some generic message.
On the RE site, i also saw this:
https://store.royalenfield.com/en/wa...-12-1720648806
New shoes called Wanderer. Seems descent and they clearly mention what protection is available. Looking at the pictures, it seems like low-rise. Worth checking this out in the store also. Hopefully they release a mid-rise or high-rise also for this model.
I also really wish RE restocks TCX boots that they used to sell a while ago.

At 7k it indeed seems no brainer. By the way, today I checked it out on nearby RE showroom. I was bit worried whether it will be in showroom as it’s quite pricey, MRP wise. But luckily as I entered, a pair of E39 mid-rise was put up right there in the merchandise section. I asked them what size it is before trying out and hilariously three ladies and a gentleman began to search for its size all over the shoe but couldn’t find it. One lady even suggested looking on the store software using part number yet for about 3-4 minutes they couldn’t tell. Then, they offered me to try it anyway and handed it over to me. The size was written in big letters on top inside on a clear white label with other details rl: it was UK8/EU42. I usually wear 10 so I was sure my foot won’t even go inside. But they were perhaps trying to push the sale so insisted for trying harder lol: I could somehow push my foot inside. As expected it was tight but got a feel that size 9 should fit me well, and regular 10 might be bit loose especially above the ankle. Till this point, I had asked for price and they said 17000!! No discounts just an offer of getting a duffle or trolley bag free with it. So, it was clear I was not gonna buy it from them. But I wanted to check size 9 and 10 or at least size 9 so asked for same. Strangely again, they took probably 15 minutes time to check if that size is available. I used this time to check out some recently launched motorcycles, especially the new Himalayan 450 and Continental GT 650. Both were stunning lookwise. The finish levels have certainly improved since Meteor 350 launch (which I had finally decided not to buy and went for CB 350 RS about 4 years ago). I would have even asked for a test ride of Himalayan but I had already watched many reviews and acquainted myself to chassis breaking and other niggles so restrained my desires. GT 650 is killer in looks though. I couldn’t resist going back to it time and again. Shotgun, Super Meteor and Guerrilla were there but not so appealing to me to check out in detail.
Enough time had elapsed till then and no one there seemed to be bothered telling me or asking me anything. So I myself asked if they could find the size 9 to which they replied in negative. I came out with sigh of relief as I didn’t have to go through all the “why I wouldn’t buy it right here right now from you”.
The boots seemed decent enough for 7k online price. I also wish they restock TCX boots but since they have become popular, RE might price them crazily so we will have to see. As for Wanderer shoes, yes they look good but now E39 mid rise seems better at 7k and Wanderer is not that clean look. Being low rise is another disadvantage. So E39 at 7k is my choice right now. I will try to check out Orazo in some detail before buying it as both are similarly priced.

Hi everyone!
Recently, Orazo launched their line of waterproof riding boots and with an introductory discount of 15%. I decided to but one pair of the "Cocoa Ibis" boots. Now I have to mention I don't really have a reason why I bought the long boots, but that's what I did.
…
About 24 kilometres into the ride, the boots became quite comfortable and I was able to ride as I usually do. I no longer felt that the boots were too big nor did I walk like I was on the moon.
The fit was comfortable right from the beginning and their size recommendations were spot on for me. The heel is supported well and in general they're quite comfortable to walk in and ride in as well.
Overall, I'm quite happy with my purchase hope to travel long with them. Do let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. :) |
Hi there!
I would like to hear from you about your Orazo boots. How’s overall quality and feel? Any particular nuisance points that you felt? I have shortlisted Orazo Ibis Sports shoes, the full sized waterproof one. So, please share your first hand experience with it. Also, if you can please compare it with E39 of RE.

Hello!
I've never used any other pair of riding boots so I don't have a gauge of where these exactly stand, but they're pretty good in general. After the first few months of use, I had an extra pair of sole inserts lying around which decided to install into the boots and it made the fit and feel so much better. With time the velcro straps don't adhere as well as they did when they were brand new, but I guess that's to be expected. Despite having used them for over two years, I still have the occasional issue with the feel for the gear lever. In hindsight, given my use case, I do think I should've bought the picus, but overall, I'm pretty happy with the ibis.
Hope this helps!

I have the Orazo full length boots too. Good value for the price. However, as they age, the sole gets slippery. I don't know what they retail for these days or if you are getting an offer, I bough them for 4.5k. Anything more, I would have preferred the RE version. Hope this helps

IBIS full sized is currently at 9k which seems a bit too costly so I am also tilting in favour of RE boots. But I noticed Orazo has obtained CE certification (mostly Level 2) as shown on website. RE E39 at 7k seems good enough still.
i had ordered a RST Trachtech boots from FC Moto for approx 14.5k.I do purchase from them often and each time i had to pay duty, at most 45% for the entire value of the shipment.
But this time, unfortunately, UPS is asking for a duty of 39.5k.!!Can you believe that?:unhappy
The guy who called from UPS stated that since the country of origin is shown as pakistan, the high duty%. Funnily enough, i had not faced any such issue on my past orders as everything was through India Post.
UPS has given a breakup of the bill. :confused:I am posting here as a heads-up to anyone planning to order from FC Moto.
I have mailed FC moto to about this and asked them to cancel the order if nothing can be done from their side after deduction of handling charges.
will keep this thread updated.
Guys please suggest me riding gears under 50k.
I don't intend to use the gears for specific riding, would probably be doing trails, mild off-roading and occasional short distance tours. As I would be getting the gears for the first time, I need to prioritise looks with comfort and safety!!
I need a jacket with good ventilation and I am preferring riding jeans over pants. Also no idea about boots and gloves should be easy to get by trying them out in Store.
So please suggest me a light weight jacket with great ventilation, riding jeans and boots.
Thanks.

1. Jacket : Solace Furious pro ( for taller huskier folks) or Rynox Tornado Pro ( for those with slimmer profiles). I used to use Rynox till i switched to Solace. No regrets. But you can check out the Rynox Air GT and Solace Air X V3 for city use.
2. Gloves : Rynox Storm Evo 3 gauntlets for longer rides, or Rynox Air SP for city ( i use both).
3. Boots : Currently using Royal Enfield Platoon boots for daily and Longer rides, plan to pick up Clan shoes as a secondary soon. Solace has options but not quite convinced with spending that much.
Price :
Solace Furious touring jacket - 13999
Solace Air X V3 - 6999
Rynox Tornado jacket - 8999
Rynox Air GT jacket - i think 6500
Rynox Storm evo 3 gauntlet - 5500
Rynox Air GT SP city gloves - 2500
Boots - 4500 on amazon sale
Clan - 5500
Another option for boots - RE E39 midrise - 7000

On of my friends bought this, happy camper. 13,500
Check with Lazy Ass Bikers for the above and ask them for boots as well. They should be able to boot you up. Contact Dhaval +91 93269 29569 he will guide you properly. No affiliation, I am a happy customer.
I have the Alpinestars SMX V2 boots which will be out of the budget you have planned at the moment. If you plan to go above then the Alpinestars I have mentioned are great.
Happy shopping.
Cheers
Folks, I am looking to buy adventure/MX riding boots. The problem is that almost every online store that I've checked out does not have anything in my size. My budget is around 35k.
Should I just order from FC Moto? Can someone suggest where I can buy some decent boots?
Thank you.

Did you check MXstore.in? The physical store is based in Pune.
The lack of availability is due to no legit import in the last 2 years. You have 2 options:
- Buy from FC Moto. You landed cost will be FC Moto price + 3k INR + 43% DUTY
- Make a trip to BKK and buy not just MX Boot but whole lot of other paraphernalia.
If this is your first MX Boot, it would make sense to wear and try out before buying. In which case option 2 is the best.
