Welcome back to riding! Make sure both of you wear full riding gear: helmet, jacket, gloves, pants, shoes. Carry your essentials, clothes, 1 bottle of water (you can always buy more on the go, no need to carry the weight), phone chargers, a tyre inflator, a puncture kit, and few medical stuff (paracetamol, painkiller, tablets for bad stomach, volini spray, bandaids), and 1-2 bungee cords.

That's all, I have never carried more stuff even when I've ridden across the country. Should fit in one bag that you should tie down instead of carrying it on your shoulder (very important).

Which year stock was it? Could you find out? The one at my local dealer is 2 years old

Need some suggestions on riding jacket and gloves for the wife who would be pillion for an upcoming long-ish ride. Looking for some decent value for money options. I saw a Solace jacket listed on Let's Gear Up website retailing at almost 8k and a Tarmac one on Orion Motors site with discounted price listed for 5.5k. Was hoping to find a jacket within 5k but not sure if there are any good ones at that price.

Any suggestions on the gloves is also welcome. My budget for both included is in the range of 8k - 10k. Cheers :)

You can look at Rynox Air GT Jacket for Women. Viaterra also has a jacket for women but it costs around 8.5k it's called the Ellis Jacket. If weight is a criteria then Viaterra is lighter than Rynox.

Build Quality wise Viaterra is better compared to Rynox. I use Viaterra full gauntlet gloves. Again, credit where it's due, Rynox customer care is good. So, if it's very tight for your budget, please go for Rynox. They most probably have a direct outlet in your city as well. So exchanges should be easy in case of an issue. They have an option to get in touch with their senior management/escalation matrix for complaints, and it works. I have changed my Rynox stealth gloves 3 times under warranty. The Viaterra is better built though. As are their bags.

I purchased one and shared news with few of my rider colleagues. In turn it turned out to be around 7 order from our group itself. This guard comes with a Knee and shin protection and our use case will most probably be one or two day ride of around 300 Kilometers.

Ordering through the portal was easy. Overall delivery experience was glitch free. However, one of my fellow rider faced some challenges when opted for Cash on Delivery (COD).

Some of the key things which influenced the decision.

1. CE Level 2 Certification: This knee guard comes with one of the best safety standards, providing effective impact protection for Knee and then shin.

2. Comfort and Flexibility: I tried it once and it is fairly flexible and comfortable enough. Long term use for all-day wear, under various riding conditions must be tested.

3. The materials used are soft and breathable, which seems like comfortable for longer rides.

4. Durability: This is something needs to be looked upon after few rides. I assume that RE has given a good amount of protection and this will endure for some time.











Overall, if you're looking for reliable knee protection while riding, this knee guard seems like a solid choice. I will try to update the usage experience.

I have listed my Rynox Stealth Air Pro Pants in the classifieds section. I have only used them for a ride for around 150 KMS and found them a bit tight especially near the Knee section, This will be a great pant for someone with a waist size between 34-36 Inches. I will prefer picking up from Bangalore if anyone is interested.

Guys, I'm looking to replace my Scorpion Eddy jacket and Rynox scout riding gloves. The use case is majorly commuting, with some weekend rides thrown in here and there. The jacket has to be a mesh based one and the gloves need to have some ventilation too. Budget is about 15k for both.

I'm inclined towards the Viaterra Fender jacket and Holeshot gloves for now. Although, I do intend to check out the Reise moto store, I think they have some rebranded stuff from Spidi. Want to avoid Rynox as I didn't like the long term quality of their gloves.

Please do let me know your thoughts & recommendations!

Edit: I also have a pair of XDI stealth full gauntlet gloves for the weekend rides, which I am currently using for my daily commutes too

I am on the lookout for a short knee guard that can be used for daily commute. i travel around 160km daily for 3 days as my organization is in hybrid working mode. I am looking for something that wont attract too much attention when i ride into the office and which offers protection. Any suggestions?

Check out riding jeans made by Levi's and sold via RE. They look like any other pair of jeans, except for reflector strips towards the bottom on either side. They have pockets into which the knee protector can be inserted, when required. Will attract absolutely zero attention.

Under the pants type for avoiding attention. Alpinestars bionic knee guard would suit you if it wasn't for the asking price of 6k. Although a basic ventillated riding pant would be just superior to knee guards alone any day. And it's better with hip and slide protection . Next best option is the jeans type with built in guards offered by Viaterra, Rynox,bikeratti etc. Oxford has costlier AAA rated models as well. Keep the jeans riding pants, for when one feels lazy, to put on the heavier cordura riding pants. Not advisable for long commutes on Kerala roads. It's 80kms one way rite?

The better option would be a pair of riding jeans. Have been using the RE ones with hip and knee protector for last 2 years. It's durable and stealthy.
If you only want a knee protector, it's better to wear one under the pants. I had used RS Taichi ones before I got my riding jeans. I still use them occasionally. Costs around 5k depending on the seller. It's thin, soft and Level 2 certified. Not much uncomfortable too.

Hi everyone, looking for your opinion on Gloves. Here's my current experience:

Around 2 years ago, I purchased Royal Enfield Roadbound gloves. They seemed good, until this happened to them:

The thumb leather/ touch cover thing came out and holes in the index fingers. This is under low-moderate use. Granted the holes might be because of my fingers being a bit longer, but not the best experience overall.

Then I got Viaterra Holeshot gloves. These were more comfortable than the REs, and seemed better built too. A couple of long rides in, the foam under the knuckle protector on the inside got misplaced and the protector started digging into the knuckle. After a long conversation with the customer service(who were fully convinced there could not be an issue from the pics) they agreed to take a look.
I shipped them back, and a couple of days later, I received confirmation that there was, infact, an issue. I would be happy with a replacement, but they weren't too keen on giving it, citing another such experience would create challenges for both, which was strange to hear but then they don't have it in stock too.

Now I'm confused as to which glove to consider. I can either go for the "Holeshot Pro" which seems to be out now or something from Rynox (Tornado Pro 3) seems decent.
Would be great to have a few suggestions. I prefer shorter cuffs.

The knuckle armour on my Rynox storm 3 came out of the seam on one fine day after about a year. Never crashed with it, although I have gotten the palm sliders scratched by dropping it. Some mesh areas also frayed over use so I thought I'd give a full leather glove a go since my hands don't sweat much. Trying out Viaterra Grid this time. Works great as my only pair under hot, cold, rain weather. No mesh fraying and other nonsense. But

the current Viaterra grids are not thin and long finger friendly. Dainese and Rev'it fit better for long finger hands. I still use the grid anyway because believe it or not, the grid is as good as those gloves and the inner liner on the grid is comfier than Dainese.
