I use a pair of polarised sunglasses - light blue tint from lenskart. An 800 rupee good jugad solution to cut down glare by half. |
Doesn't it affect when there are no head on lights pointing at you, during rest of the night drive?

No, it doesn't feel odd. The tint is a very light blue, with great polarisation.
Haven't had any problems. To be honest, there are few moments when someone's full beams or improperly installed low beams aren't piercing my retinas.

Please do not ever do that. Sunglasses at night severely curtail your night vision, and will lead to a crash. Slowing down or even stopping to allow an approaching driver on high-beams to pass you safely is the best thing that can be done. Polarized glasses are effective in reducing glare, but still ruin night vision to some extent.

It looks like this summer Bangalore is getting very hot; now a woman thrashes a man in public. The incident happened within Jeevanbhimanagar limits. A complaint was registered by the man; later, the accused woman was brought in for questioning. She has apologized for her conduct, which means she was the one who went into action mode and thrashed the driver and his friend, who shot her action on his phone. The reason for this rage, as per media reports, was that the man allegedly touched her car while reversing, but is it ok to end this with just an apology? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXNlur2Mdqo&t=20s |
Thev way she was thrashing the gentle and harassed man, she should have been booked and accorded proper punishment by the court. But forgiveness is better if sincerely asked and is in the hands of the man, so the decision has to be his, not the police officer.
Hello,
I witnessed my first road rage incident in Bangalore. And it has shocked me to the core. I have no idea what the trigger was. A person came with a huge stone brick and smashed both the rear & front wind shielf of a quick ride cab. What was more shocking was that there was a passenger inside at that time. He also took the key. And further when the cab driver was requesting for the key back, the aggressor almost hit him in the head with the brick.
We are slowly descending into lawlessness and anarchy. I shudder to think what would I have done in the cab driver's place. We are really living by sheer luck and fate. No one supports you & you are on your own. Really has shaken me to the core !
This was on old airport road near Kemp fort at around 9:00 am in peak traffice.
I know there are rules for posts on this forum. But I am sorry to say this was another example of certain sections of the society showing barbaric aggressive behavior. Sorry but there are no better words. There was a lady passenger inside and anyone else would have at least though twice before breaking the rear windshield, but not these barbarians
I had a small altercation a couple of days ago.
First off, the videos show what happened. I always have my recording set to Mute, so only the video generally gets captured and not the audio.
https://youtu.be/snko4FOwchU?feature=shared https://youtu.be/7Nl-_yh3mT0?feature=shared
I was crossing the road to take a left not far from Ashok Pillar in Chennai.
I had overtaken a cab and proceeded, the cab driver took offence to how close I passed by him and then overtook and stopped in front of me.
The rest of the conversation went as below. It was in Tamil and was in honorifics only. Neither of us used any abusive language, though the video makes it seem very heated.
Him: You hit me sir, what do you mean by this?
Me: Stop making up stories ji, our cars didn't touch.
Him: You drove very rashly sir, what do you mean by this?
Me: I was in front of you with my left indicator on, when I started turning left. You tried to overtake me from the left.
Him: Why did you not allow me to overtake?
Me: You tried to overtake me, there was a parked car in front of you, I didn't deviate from my lane.
Him: But you tried to hit me, I've been seeing from a long time, you drove rashly over the speed breaker too.
Me: I never tried to hit you, I went faster over the speed breaker because my car can take it, what's your problem?
Him: But you tried to hit me, sir. What do you mean by this?
Me: See ji, I can stand here all day saying the same things, can you do so?
(He leaves.)
Me: Thought so, go on go on.
I admit I was not the coolest cucumber then. But the heat was getting to me. The temperature was hovering around 39°C (I couldn't keep my hand on my bonnet for long). And I didn't like how he was knocking on my passenger side window, where my wife was sitting.
After seeing the video, I realise I should have handled that better. At least, driving-wise. This place is close to my home, and I think I was just exhausted and looking forward to just going home. I did indeed come very close to the cab.
I also realise that my body language comes across as aggressive, even when I'm attempting to be respectful. :disappointed

I think it was Tupac who said "They have money for war but not to feed the poor". Similarly people have time to stand and fight and argue but not wait for a few seconds to let the other guy go first. I am glad the argument fizzled out. Best to just diffuse it calmly, I know it's hard when it's not our fault.
PS:- I am not saying it's your fault here :-).

As someone who commutes 100+ kilometres to & fro - for work - on a daily basis, and being blessed with car-mates who have a running feud with punctuality, I have realised that:
We are always in a hurry, but are never on time!.
But more importantly:
We are always in a hurry, because we are never on time!
Minor altercation turned into murder.

Kochi:Two CISF personnel were held on Thursday on charges of murdering a man in what is suspected to be the aftermath of a road rage incident which happened on Wednesday night. Nedumbaserry police nabbed one accused from the airport, while the other person was admitted to a private hospital at Angamaly.
The deceased was identified as Ivin Jijo, 24, a resident of Thuravoor. He was an employee of a company that supplies food to the airport.
According to the FIR registered by the Nedumbassery Airport police, Ivin's car scraped against the vehicle driven by the CISF personnel at Nayathode on Wednesday night. This led to an altercation. As Ivin stood in front of their car and argued, they hit him with the car. Ivin fell on the bonnet of the vehicle in the impact. As he held onto the bonnet, he was dragged by the accused for some distance.
Ivin screamed for help, but the car sped off for almost 1 km. The accused then applied the brakes suddenly to shake Ivin off the bonnet on Kappela road, and Ivin fell on the road and was run over by the car, the FIR noted. |
