- I think your sequence is perfect.
- Bangalore-Parli will go via Bijapur/Solapur/Parli. Mixed roads good 4-lanes and decent to bad 2-lanes.
- Once you are done with Ujjain/Indore section of the circuit, your drive across to Gujarat takes you through NH59 which is to be avoided at all costs.
- Take the route via Alirajpur to Baroda and continue there on to Dwarka/Somnath.
- I dont know how is the deviation to Bhimashankar made from the Bombay Pune road. May be at Karjat? Good to check with others.
- If its possible you should note that you should not take the e-way but the Bombay-Pune road

EDIT : Here is the reference on NH59

Definitely a better routing HVK. But are there no options but to take the roundabout route via Udaipur/Nimbahera?

The other option is NH59 which is totally out of question. The Alirajpur route is also an option, but may be boring to go up and down the same NH3. So the Udaipur route is superfast and a same-time option, and except for the Chittorgarh-Nimbahera bad sector, you should reach Ujjain very fast.

Its definitely aggressive as per me. Because every day you have to drive and also do a darshan. So in case if it gets delayed, the plan spills over to the next day.

Pardona small mistake. You can turn off NH50 for Bhimashankar ideally at Manchar, not Narayangaon as mentioned in my earlier mail. I believe that there is also a road from Rajgurunagar, but the Manchar route is the best.

Stay in Bhimashankar - the Blue Mormon Resort close by is a good place to stay, some of our friends have stayed there, reported good things about it. Besides the temple also has some basic acco.
http://www.bhimashankarbluemormon.com/index.html

As ampere mentioned, what I have taken into consideration is not just distance to be travelled, but also temple opening/ closing times and darshan duration - that has been taken into consideration in my route plan, but time overruns can change your plan.

Re: 12 Jyotirlingas - Route Info

Plan to do Pune-Parli Vaijnath-Aundha Nagnath-Pune this weeked.
Have been to Parli once so am aware of the route and stay options (Hotel Anusaya). Need info on :
1. Road condition/Advisable route to Aundha Nagnath from Parli.
2. Stay Options at Aundha Nagnath
3. Route to take for return journey from Aundha Nagnath to Pune.
4. Shall I first do Pune-Aundha Nagnath and then move to Parli? If yes, then same questn as above. Best route to Pune-Aundha Nagnath?

Dont mind if a route is longer by few kms but would prefer good roads. Will be travelling with family.

Any other helpful information is welcome

I would go from Parli via Gangakhed & Parbhani to Aundha. Roads will be rough. Maybe it would be a a better idea to take the longer route via Gangakhed & Nanded.

Aundha - I have no idea about stay options.

I would return to Pune via Parbhani, Jalna, Aurangabad & Ahmednagar

Done Pune-Aundha Nagnath-Parli Vaijnath-Pune on 25-26 May 2013 covering total distance of 866Kms. Though I was advised to take either Pune-Jalna-Parbhani- Aundha or Pune-Jalna-Jintur-Aundha, I took the entirely different route drove on NH222 from Ahmednagar all the way till Parbhani. Excellent road through out except for some uneven surface between Manjlegaon to Manwath, but still could maintain speeds 50-70kmph. This is the shortest and I believe the fastest route to do this. Minimal traffic. The entire NH222 seems to be recently laid out, especially between Ahmendnagar till Manjlegaon.

HV Kumar Sir - Went against ur advise but I wanted to test this route as I had driven between Ahmednagar to Beed on NH222 and found it to be good. So thought of going by my instinct and drove all the way till Parbhani on NH222

- Its possible to push to your first day drive till Hubli.
- Second day you can start early.
- Pune bypass should be via Dehu Road/Chakan (Please confirm with HVK/Parag)
- You are starting from Bhimashankar the very next day early morning. You need a fews hour buffer.
- I have no idea how is Nasik approach to NH8 condition is.
- Aurangabad-Bangalore : Any reasons to come via Nanded ? You should do Nagar/Pune.
