There are loads of ways you can travel between Kolhapur to Baga, Goa. If you spend some time on the relevant threads you will find how to get from A to B in detail, you will then be able to guage which route will suit you the most.

Though I am absolutely certain that whatever the circumstances, you do not have to go all the way to Belgaum to visit North Goa, you have definitely been ill advised.

Thanks Marcus. The same reason I did a request . The threads , each have different suggestions. Na dlooked old...Most of them I could see were on 2010 or earlier
Anyways will look and search some more.

I would definitely second the route suggested by ranjitp1, (Roads good all through the route.Pune-Kolhapur-Sankeshwar-Gadhinglaj-Amboli-Sawantwadi-NH17-Panjim.Budget for a 10hour drive), in my opinion too it is the best way to get to Goa from the north. Of course you do not need to go all the way to Panjim, but use one of the turn-offs to the right to get to the beach belt. The most commonly used one is the one through Mapusa.

Take note to keep by the side of the Sankeshwar flyover(do not go over it) and then take a right under it onwards to Gadhinglaj,

Hello Guys,
Its a long time since there was any post about this route. I am planning to travel from Pune to Goa in the first week of May. I know its not a great time for Goa, but will be still going there. I am planning to take this route: Pune - Kolhapur - Nipani - Gandhinglaj - Amboli - Sawantwadi - Mapusa - Goa.
How is this route presently? Anyone travelled recently on this route?
How is the condition of the roads? I will be travelling on May 1st early morning in my Ford Classic.
BTW is there anyone else planning for Pune - Goa on these days?

The route nowadays being taken is Pune-Kolhapur-Belgaum-Chorla-Goa

Hari, the route you have identified is a good one. I travelled by it last week. Expect police checks near Gadhinglaj and Goa, specially when exiting.
You will love the Amboli ghat in the Classic.
