Yes, with scorpio you can do it. Slow down in general. I did with EcoSport, so should not be a problem with high GC vehicles.

Does this plan look okay? I need suggestions on

2. road conditions, routes for these. I saw multiple routes in google maps, but unsure about the road condition.

Road conditions are not to worry throughout. At Shringeri, Sharada Comforts is now popular. If you are planning around the Shivaratri long weekend, good luck with the booking since many hotels around here, Mangalore, Udupi are sold out.

At Sringeri, as Parag mentioned, Sharadha comforts is good.
At Kollur, both Mahalakshmi residency and Jyothi are good, both are close to one of the temple entrances (less than 200 metres), food is probably better at Mahalakshmi though.

Instead what I would suggest: (You may need one more day)

Day 1: Drive to Kukke. stay overnight.
Day 2: Visit Dharmasthala and drive to Horanadu/Kalasa. Stay over night.
Day 3 : Visit Sringeri on the way and drive to Kollur. Stay over night
Day 4: Drive back to Bangalore.

Ideally, most of the travelers on this pilgrimage circuit would always keep Kukke Subbramnya at the end and return back to base. It is very very rare that anyone would do Kukke first and then the rest of the locations, especially Dharmasthala.

At least this is what I have learnt over my regular interactions with friends, colleagues and family members. I may be wrong too!

The interesting reason behind this is that one should always take the blessings of the father first (Lord Manjunatha) followed by Son (Subbramanya).

I was just looking at routing optimization. We can do circuit opposite if need be. I just meant to keep the places sequenced.

D1 : Drive to Kollur (Stay)
D2 : Visit Sringeri and then drive to Kalasa/Horanadu (stay).
D3 : Visit Dharmasthala and drive to Kukke (stay)
D4 : Head back to Bangalore

Makes more sense (optimization) since you do not ping-pong around the region and trace the same sectors more than once. And also this one takes care of the religious beliefs as well since Kukke comes after Dharmasthala.

Thanks Parag, i am traveling the weekend after shivaratri. But will book this immediately to avoid any disappointments later.

Have to attend a luncheon at Sringeri on the 16th, Sunday. Will be four guys travelling in a Ford Aspire from Chikkamagaluru. We can spare the entire day.

How best can the day be spent; in, around and on the way to Sringeri?

Apart from Sringeri temple, you must visit Sirumane falls and drive to Agumbe. Don't miss the Cobra conservatory.
