Any latest update/change in developments on the Chorla route?

Last update for this route was that roads are relaid and good all the way.

Yes the chorla route is now pristine, both on Karnataka and Goa side. Go now before it rains. That section gets a lot of rain and will get damaged.

Is there any route you would suggest given the monsoons and the soft-roader?

Assuming you’re headed to a destination in South Goa, take Hubli-Ankola-Karwar-Goa route.

Had been to south Goa in the first week of May. If you are driving to South Goa, then Hubli-Ankola-Karwar-Goa is the best option. The New Hubli bypass is now ready and will help save some travel time.

I’m planning a trip from Goa to Chennai, and assume would have to halt in Bangalore /Hosur.

Is Goa - Bangalore doable in 1 stretch (I’ll be driving alone).

Which route would be recommended (I’ll be travelling on 1st June).

Goa to Bangalore is very doable in one stretch assuming you have done long drives before. It can take anything between 10 hours to 14 hours depending on starting point, where you want to stop in Bangalore and your driving style.

It might be a good idea to stop before Bangalore for the night and leave next morning for Chennai.

Belgaum-Goa road has been repaired fully after a decade - Saw this report in the newspaper recently.

This might be correct. We travelled in 1st week of April'25. Few KMs of road from Belgaum were under repair then. Remaining later part was anyways smooth drive.
