Current Conditions of Road to Chikka Tirupathi, and Tonsure facilities !

Hi Guys,

Need a quick guidance.

Planning to travel to Chikka Tirupathi on the weekends.


1. Which route will be a better choice to drive along ? Coming from KR Puram side.

Should it be ITPL - NH207 one ?

Or Should it be ITPL - Varthur - Gunjur and then left from there ?


2. Do we have any tonsure facilities, like barber availability and warm watter, etc, at Chikka Tirupati ?

Planning to get it done for twins there.


Any guidance will be really helpful

The route via KR Puram-Kadugodi-Channasandra-Samethanahalli-Kalkunte can also be considered, there is another road via Gunjur- Katrigupe joining Chikka Tirupathi. I am not sure of the recent condition of the latter route. Tonsure and warm water facility is available.

You could take the Hoskote-Koralur-Chikka Tirupati road(sh648) .The hoskote to koralur stretch was relaid just 2 months back and there is very less traffic usually.Or you could take the kr puram-kadugodi-channasandra-chikka tirupati road but you would encounter some traffic in belathur due to drainage construction work.

He wants to get the Mundan/head shaving done for his son and they'd planned it at their hometown but now wants to avoid travel.

They want to get it done at a Mata/Durga temple, hence the question on what are some options in and around Bangalore.

Mysore is an option. Many get done at Chikka Tirupati also.
