I was worried about water logging and low visibility. Maybe traffic jams.

I think NH4 will be in good condition. but how is Hubli-Karwar route? especially since I may land up on it by night time.
As Ranjit mentioned, the route to Karwar via Belgum-Hubli-Ankola is pristine and does not have any water logging. Its beautiful to drive this stretch in rain. (I mean when we you can see through the rain. And not when it pours! )

Re: NH4 and NH17 updates??

Thanks ampere! encourages me further.

I am a bit worried about the route from Hubli to Karwar. Also, the Hubli-Karwar de-tour is costing almost 90kms additional travel. How about the route via Khanapur and Londa?

Hubli-Ankola NH63 is a belter of a road. You wont even realize you went through ghats! Its such a beauty. Ankola-Karwar is 30km of good roads again. Just that you dont have any hotel in this stretch of 90km between Hubli-Ankola.

There is a Kamat at Ankola which is towards Ankola. In other words you will have to turn towards Ankola (and not Karwar) when you hit NH17 from NH63 to reach Kamat.
