If you are looking for a VFM car, why dont you go for Logan 1.5 DLS or DLX. I have never heard any complaint till date from all Logan owners. Read review of my Logan here - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/long-t...-6500-kms.html

Why to buy a second hand when new is available in your budget?

verna crdi+abs is a good car right now in the diesel market. its a good combination between comfort and performance, Getz is a good car espically the crdi but its kind of overpriced and for some strange reason, hyundai forgot to provide ABS on it.

agreed it will be costlier to maintain than the swift, but that is because the car itself is costlier. going by that reasoning, we should all buy M800s because they are the cheapest to maintain.
I 100% agree... in my place.. Hyundai services are better than Maruti ..

Is it the Dzire just for my kinda people? FE of a 1.3, size of a sedan, and its with Maruti's reliability/A.S.S. Looks like a better candidate than Getz CRDi. as Dzire is basically a sorted out Swift with the much needed boot. Hope there is some improvements in the back seat arrangement for better leg space etc.

Accent CRDi is the most unreliable diesel car around,i have personally seen lots of friends getting engine job done at very less kms on the odo,i wont recommend it any day.plus its very unrefined and the three cylinder unit shakes too much.

Forget the shakes. You can learn to live with it but the CRDi engine isn't very relaible as pointed out by you. I have seen many Accent CRDis among friends and relatives which required reboring of engine costing nearly Rs. 60,000/- just after 70 to 80,000 KMs. Alos, even after re-bore the engine fails to preform like id did before. It is said that a non-CRDi engine like Lancer's is much durable---it easily lasts upward of 3 lakh KMs before requiring engine re-bore.

I think we shold stop using words like unreliable so freely. not just in this thread or about this particular car/brand.

unreliable is when a car breaks down and strands you due to mechanical failure. not when the AC vent falls off or the mirror cracks or something equally trivial.

there are'nt many unrelaible car models running in india today, and the accent CRDI is definitely NOT one of them.

poor maintenance will cause it to smoke excessively when it gets to 80,000 or so, but thats it. it will not breakdown, unless you continue to abuse it further.

which could happen to any car.

the Accent CRDI is not even a high maintenance car. take care of it as advised by the manufacturer and it will do very well.

I agree. I have come across very happy Accent CRDI owners, yet to come across one who regrets the decision.

They say it is very torquey and FE.

I fully agree with EZEE.

Your budget and denads look to suit Logan DLX. Good VFM buy.

I recommend

Getz CRDi - if boot is not a must for you. This car is indeed spacious, had good road manners & reliable. The engine is definately more powerful than required. I have been thinking why can't Hyundai lauch a smaller version diesel engine in Getz which is also not that expensive to buy. This will bring the car in direct competition to Swift diesel and will give it a good fight. Few driving freaks (including me) will love to drive 110 BHP getz but how many actually buy??

Logan diesel - if you require a boot and enormous space at the rear, though this is not feature packed. Looking at the planned product portfolio of the company the future looks bright though the risk of M&M and Renault breaking-up could be there.

Swift diesel - if you require boot and lot of goodies at the cost of rear space.

Choice is yours basis the requirement.
