That is probably because most of the RSs change hands within the friends' circles, only the unsaleable or owner in a hurry comes out to a dealer.

One of my friend who owns an RS claimes that there are only 4 of them sold in Bangalore! Not sure how true it is. Or it must be some special edition of RS he owns.

The suspension is hard
You cant sit in the same position for a long drive
you have to get out of it for a while ( Atleast with me)

It's shocking how many people take their cars to manufacturer dealers, reproduce their information here, and claim to know about cars.

I don't own an RS. I don't even know a Skoda. But I did own a Jetta 1.8T Turbo (same car, different body, different badge) and I'll tell you that it's not an easy car to maintain. The biggest problem these cars have are the ignition components and their water pumps.

I also faced experiences with some electricals. All in all, I'd say the 1.8T engine is not frugal enough, not reliable enough for this country. Go with the 1.9Tdi and make it look an RS

hey man ! If u got the moolaah, and if it is the car of your dreams , go for it , i know its easy to just sit and say anything, but i feel skoda's quality is top notch, and lets hope there's no major fault in car , moreover you can get it checked by an auth skoda dealer, who would assist you.

ignition components - yes- the coil packs are fragile earlier ones much so
water pumps - pre 2004 cars had a plastic impeller which split or disintegrated, the RS's in India are after that era so are safe (I hope!)

Note from the Team-BHP Support Staff : Post Edited. Smilie usage is restricted to two per post on Team-BHP. Please refrain from using excessive smilies.

I just picked up my Yellow RS today at 10 pm. Its an awesome ride in mint stock condition. I have rarely experienced this kind of exhiliration in a car but this comes packed with raw raw raw power. I love the gadgetry. Need to figure the buttons and switches tomorrow morning.

Cheers

Thanks guys. Just drove the car to work and it flies. Before I knew it I was in office. Only problem I really faced with the car is
1.) Too many people drooling around the car
2.) Many many jealous faces around.

Any ideas how to solve these problems?

Will post the pics by this weekend max.

Cheers

Thanks dude. I paid close to 7 inclusive of all the other expenses such as paying the guy who helped me get the car etc. The car is from Chennai.

And btw is the alpine in the RS ipod compatible. What do I do or get to get my ipod to work with the alpine?
