@ESK: Congratulations. Please post initial experiences with your Laura.
@Sainthil: Congratulations. Please post your experiences as well.
Please post your car pictures as well.

Looks like on TBHP, now there are more Laura's on board.
So far in last 2-3 weeks, my experience with Laura has been great!

Also, try and bargain for anti-rust coating under the chasis, it will do you good in the long run(especially because we stay near the coast). They may say it's not needed but get it done anyways.

Gurudev motors is giving me ready delivery. I asked for the date of manufacture. The sales rep did not knwo where to look for. Then he showed me some Skoda invoice, it had 25-06-2008. So it looks like 3 month old vehicle.

Is it a bad deal? OR is it normal for such brands?

Hi ESK,

Have you visisted Gurudev New car parking Yard in Koyebedu near to SBI.
It has some 250 new cars there.
I visisted to check L&K Laura and Octavia.
A lot of cars have been parking there for more than 6 Months.
3 Months is a not a big problem.
But please check it thoroughly before going for registartion.
My Car is arrived and probably today car will go for Registartion.
Meanwhile what is your Salesperson Name.
I am dealing with Vishal.
the problem is,Everyone in that showroom is lacking of knowledge about the cars.
They don't know even a small details .
But for Chennai People who planned for Skoda has no other go.
Gurudev is the only dealer here.
I am in Amanjikarai near to Nelson Manickam Road.So the showroom and service station is very near to me.

Let me know, once you get the car.

Are you sure there are that many cars? I saw only about max 50-60 cars there. And many of them had just come in for service. The service executives were very helpful and knowledgable.

Had taken my dad there as my dad has now fallen in love with my RS and wants a skoda himself. Looked at the Laura & Superb. The executive there saw my car parked outside and told my dad "Please dont upgrade from that car to any of these cars as it will be more like a downgrade".(Guess he was just taken aback by my car's colour)

i guess you saw the service station in the underground and near by area.
there you can see only cars coming for service.
I am talking about the Yard in Koyembedu.
I don't have interaction with service guys.
I have been talking with sales team only.

Yes I guess thats the place I saw. I had no idea they had a yard in the same vicinity. The laura is a brilliant car especially if you have the extra dough for the L&K.

The sales guys in Teynampet Gurudev are more knowledgable than the guys in Koyembedu and if need be you can push things through the Teynampet office.

You'd be better off using the sport mode on enthusiastic drives.

Scince its a little down to automatic s and it concern c the skoda laura which AT will be a better as a self driven the honda civic s paddle shifts or the laura s triptronic ?? They are world s apart and with a diffrence of price upto half a million rupees and consuming different fuels . But just the automatic part which wins ??

The VW Group DSG is one of the best 'boxes around. I wouldn't be surprised if it's better than the Civic's AT 'box.

I interacted with multiple folks (Arun, and then Tamil). I spoke to the manager before signing the cheque- his name is Vijay. They are all Tenampet. I agree with you the first level sales executives dont have enough details about the car. This forum and the internet gave me more information. One of the sales guys even tried putting pressure on me saying Skoda is going to increase prices within a week, so hurry !. I could only laugh at him.

My car has got all regn done. its in the show room. I will pick it up tomorrow only. Will go for a drive on Sunday. waiting with all excitement.

I got the Laura delivered yesterday. Took it for a drive in the morning today.
The car is beautiful. The Silver colour is giving it a fantastic look. Just loved the car.

When i got the car, the efficiency showed 10.5 l / 100 km ! i was bit concerned. In my drive today ( covered about 70 km) thru the city. The FE showed 6.3l /100 km, which is fantastic FE.

I have not revved it hard. The User manual said 'go soft for the first 1000-1500 KM.'.

One quick quesiton to the LOCs. Can we drive under 200 rpm? I never really crossed it. I heard that the turbo will get damaged if you low rev it? is that true?

PS - i will write in detail on how i arrived at this car little later, as promised.
