BHPian ![]() | ![]() Goa registered maroon Accent (?) number ending 1340 around 8:45am today, having Got Bhp on left front door and LTD on rear bumper. You passed me twice, once under the Marathalli bridge, and once above :-) (I was on bicycle) Very likely we're neighbours. Can you please ack? |

Senior - BHPian ![]() | ![]() Met Schoudhury again yesterday morning, inside PTP campus on the way to our respective offices. Exchanged quick hi's and waves ![]() Just as he was exiting, a demo honda civic was being taken back by a driver, from the showroom entrance to the basement. Putting these together, I guess mayank might be getting a new civic soon! ![]() |

| ![]() I am sure this has been discussed here before, but was there any consensus on what should be the "greet" sign when you see someone sporting a t-bhp sticker? Is it the thumbs-up sign, because I have seen a few people mention that before in the t-bhp stickers thread. The problem with that is that people in 4-wheelers with windows up cannot get the attention of the other driver. Also the thumbs up sign can be confused and dangerous when bikers gesture driving one-handed. Funny side story : Last week a biker overtakes me and starts waving and pointing at his bike's rear/tire and I have a confused look on my face. He races ahead and now I am left wondering if he was pointing that I have flat tyre! I immediately stop few meters ahead and check all four tyres to be in perfect condition. When I go behind my car, I see I have 2 t-bhp stickers and then I realize he was pointing to those and I smile. I would like to propose a signature honk as all vehicles have a horn. How about "<start> Beep Beep <pause> Beep Beep Beep <end>" sounding something like "<start> Pom Pom <pause> Pom Pom Pom <end>"? This way, you immediately recognize the tone and know that it is a t-bhpian and will have a smile on your face. The person can be behind you, beside you, ahead of you while driving. But since this is a honk, we should avoid doing this near hospitals and the standard traffic rules should be followed with respect to no honk zones. Thoughts? ![]() |

Naaa, we did not finalized the deal with Dakshin Honda guys. The deal did not go through, still awaiting my loan approval (SBI Guys are slow, but better IMHO) Last edited by mayankjha1806 : 6th December 2011 at 12:38. | |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() So far I have found that twice thumbs up, twice thumb backwards works once youve got attention. More on this in bits and parts in the TBHP stickers thread. |

| ![]() The best greeting is a courtesy. I don't have the sticker, though I've chanced upon one particular gent in a black (stickered) Safari who was probably one of the most courteous and considerate drivers I've seen, ever. Near-perfect use of mirrors and lights, and very conscious about using the passing lane. I think one should be able to tell a fellow member form the driving style. Given how India is, courtesy itself should be enough of a differentiator. |
