Re: How did you come up with your username?

mav3r1ckblu3 = maverick+blue

"Maverick" was inspired decades ago by the fictional character Lt. Pete Mitchell (callsign: Maverick) played by none other than Tom Cruise in the cult movie Top Gun, where he's shown to have a reckless flying style, but otherwise is an excellent Pilot.

"Blue" is the color/synonymous with the football club in the English Premier League that I've been supporting since the year 2000, Chelsea Football Club.

My flat feet denied me an opportunity to clear the medicals for joining the IAF, having cleared the CDS exams. Nevertheless, to ease the disappointment, I took to PC/Console Gaming, and this has been my gamer tag since the last 2 decades. You can find me on the PlayStation Network with this ID too in case you own a PlayStation.

Peace out!

Username: gischethans

My name - Chethan S. Getting usernames as chethan or chethans was next to impossible on old platforms like Gmail. I didn't like the idea of suffixing birth date or year. So prefixed it with the subject I did my Master's on - GIS (Geographic Information Systems). Now that is my username across many platforms.

Re: How did you come up with your username?

Mine has been my username for my online avatars since I was 8 years old! Obviously I didn't put too much thought into it and it just stuck in all my online forums/accounts.

Re: How did you come up with your username?

My nickname used to be Indian Pot. This name was given to me by my friends when I was in my teens. There are logical reasons behind this nickname. This is still my youtube handle.

When the Internet came, I cut out the Pot and became Indian. My number plate is INDIAN. My domain is indian. My email is indian(at)indian.no.
If people ask me where I am from, I dont say Malaysia or Norway. I say India.

Most of the local VW club members call me Indian. They dont even know my real name.

Re: How did you come up with your username?

The two professions I respect most are music and sports. And Freddie Mercury and Brian Lara are two people who have rocked me to my core. So my display picture is a Freddie Mercury illustration whereas my handle is 400notout the highest test score by Brian Lara.

And before 400 my favourite numerical prefix/suffix used to be 375 . My username is usually 400notout wherever I can use it.

Only Indians and Sri Lankans asks me that. With the Indians its fine when I tell them that I grew up speaking a mixture of Malayalam, Malay and English. The Sri Lankan Tamils however makes a big case out of that. They dont believe me when I tell them I cant. They tell me I feel high class and wont speak my language.

I was teased a lot in Kerala when I tried my Malayalam skills, so much that I stopped trying to speak it. Today I can count from 1 to 10 in Malay and 1,2 and 4 in Malayalam.

Re: How did you come up with your username?

My first name starts with the word "jyoti" and "catch" means to catch-up with me. That is how I came up with the handle. It has been my handle from the time I created my first email account in 1995.

Re: How did you come up with your username?

How I came up with my user name is very simple. Due to my age almost every body like relatives, friends, even strangers used to call out with respect VEERJI which means Elder brother.

Re: How did you come up with your username?

cogWheel
Derived from my interests in cognitive neuroscience and wheeled vehicles. Sort of a thinking car enthusiast.
Of course refers to a toothed wheel aka "gearwheel" - an important part of an automobile.
Doctors would also relate to this word in the description of a type of rigidity (cogwheel rigidity)

Re: How did you come up with your username?

FlashMustang
A cross between a fictional character and an iconic car.

I loved the fictional character, Flash, who is known for his speed.

Ford Mustang is an iconic car that I admire.

The idea of driving a Ford Mustang at Flash's speeds excites me.

So, I crossed both the names and came up with my user name

Re: How did you come up with your username?

used to drag race, in the good ol’ days of Bangalore. Became a big big fan of Fast & Furious. Love the song from the F&F movie that’s shot in Tokyo. Hence became TokyoDrifter.
