Does anyone have suggestions for a good plastic box for storing lego bricks and manuals and such? I have 2 of them but they are not very useful as they don't have clasp so if I drop the box, lego bricks will fall on the floor.
Box needs to be preferably transparent so we can see what's inside.
Any suggestions appreciated.

They are a little expensive (non adjustable dividers) but are very sturdy. I faced difficulty with the adjustable divider boxes (cheap chinese make) so switched to these and other Indian make partition boxes. The Whatmore (Wham) boxes also serve as sorting trays when you separate the lids.

You can also have a look at domestic partitioned box products by Paras, Right plastic, KAPTAN etc on justdial/Indiamart and buy in bulk for cheap but of appreciable quality.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for those sets mentioned. There are folks who sell their lego sets on craiglist. I'll let you know if I come across anything. We can coordinate and work out the logistics at that point in time

I had some lego sets from '87 -'88 ( when I got my first lego set ) and would drool on the catalogues of the other sets, especially the TECHNIC sets and yearn to have one. I would use my existing set and try to mimic the movements of the crane arm, the oscillating axle arm to name a few.

This Arocs Model is my first Technic set, and boy, I am so amazed with everything we can do with it. I still have the old set ( missing pieces though )

All said, its just so fascinating to see what all you can make with these technic sets.

Thanks a ton for this recommendation. My daughter and I got the truck up today and it was amazing. Christmas holiday well spent! And as you mentioned, it's a steal. Got a working steering, prop shaft, differential, dumper lift, the works....and very very close to Lego quality.

I love lego, this thread on this forum is just marvellous. Well, I was finally able to put together this technic set #8210 after maybe 15 years! So actually I was missing the windscreen part of the bike and after a lot of hunting I finally managed to get it on Bricklink, that too from a store right here in Bangalore last week. Thanks to them now my bike is complete and isnt she is gorgeous?

My friend gifted me a Lego. He brought it for me from Denmark.





Was amazed by the precision on how the whole thing has been made! Each and every minor parts were just spot on!
Assembling these cars were quite engaging and addictive.

The box contained materials to assemble two cars.

1) Jaguar Formula E
2) Jaguar I-Pace

There were 4 packets containing material to construct the cars & the packets were numbered.

Two proper manuals to guide.

Each manual consists of approximately 60-70 pages.

Two sets of stickers to put on the panels.

It took me roughly 3.5 hours to complete the Formula E and 5.5 hours to complete the Jaguar I-Pace.

Both the cars kept side by side.



The box says, kids above 8 years can assemble these cars.
The final products looks like toy cars, it's far from an actual scale model, but it's fun. The final products looks good.
For the first time, I tried my hands on a Lego, & I absolutely loved it.

I’ve always been a fan of Lego, and it could be argued that the Lego sets i bought for my daughter were for me to build. Recently, got to know of a Lego exhibition in my city, which involved creations from a Lego Certified Professional. Mindblown by these creations, sharing for the appreciation of other Lego fans.

Need some help, my son’s 10th birthday is coming up and he absolutely loves Lego. As most of you know, Lego is almost unavailable in India, most stores don’t have Lego any more. I checked ubuy.com and the prices are almost double of what I bought in Dubai and Amsterdam earlier this year, and yet there is a disclaimer stating that they don’t guarantee the product delivery.

Is there any other source to buy Lego? I’m specifically looking at Lego technics ( either the Mustang or the Corvette ).

I dont know of any sources in India - I would imagine the best bet is to hand carry from overseas if you know anyone coming in soon.

On that note, I saw a Lego store in Singapore recently (sort of near the CBD) and it had an awesome collection of Technic products. By any chance if you know anyone coming in from Sg that’s a great store to pick from an extensive Technic range.

Considering that the birthday is time-bound and getting stuff in bigger sets like Technic in India is challenging, are you ok renting Lego sets?

If yes, recommended Funstation.in . I used them a lot when my older one was into Legos. Obviously it works out more expensive than ownership in the long term but was fun giving my son an expensive set for a month which I wouldn't have bought otherwise due to high cost, his evolving interests and Bombay per square feet rates !
