Maistos are good value for money. Autoarts are Kyoshos are way more expensive. <aistos and Bburagos good to start a collection with.

It also depends on what you want to collect, quality or quantity.

You can have a cupboard full of Maistos for the same amount that you get a few AAs. But the quality, finish and value that the higher end models have cannot be matched by the Maistos.

MatchBox models of yesteryear

Just stumbled accross this thread.

Does anyone here collect MatchBox? I have about 200 MatchBox and Dinky models oldest from 1975 still in their original packaging. I have about 30 models of yesteryear series which are my primary interest.

Wow, Amol- glad to see a Matchbox guy in this jungle of AAs, Kyoshos, and Maistos ! I too have a sizeable collection of Matchbox - "Made in England by Lesney" models, starting from the seventies, thru the eighties, till the nineties when matchbox started manufacturing in (sob !) Macau.
I'm simply not able to find time to get them out of their packed condition in my loft, compile them, photograph and post them.
Maybe sometime.
But do post your collection whenever..
