Saw modelart's 1:10 scale RC vehicles. They have monster truck, truggy?, buggy and one more. They look massive and cost little less than 10k.

Modelart branded cars are toys compared to the mainstream rc brands. I suspect if they have any spares availability for the cars. Please check on that before buying. I recommend the mainstream brands over those.

Re: The Radio / Remote Control Cars Thread. (RC)

Well...after years and years of delay and pondering with the thought 'I'm married and have a kid...do I really need to indulge in this hobby of mine which others will look as childish?'
Well, hell yeah. Took the plunge, thought I'll buy something small, specifically the tiny 1:50 F430 from Silverlit (got it for Rs700 from eBay), before you know it I went out and purchased the almost perefecT 1:14 Lamborghini Aventador LP700 from some unknown Chineese company (Qunxing) for Rs.2,500 and damn it flies and drifts, which in the process, got it hit against the wall/door several times, got few bumps here and there on the body. But I can't remember having so much fun ever!
So that being said, I had a mind to try either a remote helicopter with a camera (the Modelart one) or a remote bike with Gyro (from Maisto). But first, I always wanted to buy the Silverlit 1:16 Scarlet red Ferrari Italia, with the working indiciators and all. Its currently available at Flipkart for Rs.2,500.
Here some pics of the current 2 R/C car I have,(sorry if its too much). Not sure how to upload the video though, that shows the extent of my drifting and hitting here and there

Re: The Radio / Remote Control Cars Thread. (RC)

Just picked up a Traxxas 70054 Pro 4 Wheel Drive, although the battery takes approx 8hrs to charge fully, but with only 15-20mins of playtime.
How do I upgrade the battery & charger for this particular model & where can I get it online in India?
Help guys!!

How much are you willing to spend on the charger/battery? For longer runtimes, you need to go Lipo. Good chargers are available for about 5K. Lipos/chargers can be brought from several stores in India. Check on the battery tray specs before buying a lipo. Tons of information on rc forums/ social media.

Unfortunately, I am unable to get the battery & charger anywhere online in India. Amazon.com has them, but there is a 2-3 week delivery period.

Please let me know if you happen to know any online sites in India where I can purchase the chargers & battery.

You haven't been searching for them in the right place. Amazon is not the place to buy serious RC stuff.

We have several online stores completely dedicated to RC hobby in India where you can find lipos/chargers. See below few names, Google for sites:
RC Dhamaka
Joy Rising Hobby
Veelson5er
Traxxas.in
RcBazaar
rcbharat

Yes, I have bought stuff from here... its jus that their shipping charges may be on higher side coz they ship via the bigger names and they pack it quite sturdy... you can always get it picked up from their store...

Pretty nice chaps, quite service minded!

hope its the same!

Re: The Radio / Remote Control Cars Thread. (RC)

Hi all,

Wish I read about Modelart here before I bought it :-(

Been to the store in Koramangala, Bangalore many times and awed at the quality of the scale models of productions cars. Banking on that quality, I assumed the brand was something to trust, and bought the Modelart Sandstorm from here for a few bucks, as the store attendant mentioned that batteries on flipkart cant be trusted. (Flipkart was 8oo bucks cheaper!). All was fine for the first two weeks with three runs in the basement of the appt. On the fourth run, the battery just died in a few mins. (Do note: I do take care of all my gadgets, and know very well about overcharging, and precautions for the battery, and did abide by all this)

I took the package back to the store, and asked them to check. The guy said the charger adapter is faulty, and suggested to buy a new one. Just to be sure, I left it with them for a couple of hours to ensure that everything was fine. Once I go back, they say the battery is also gone kaput! This was surprising to me.. Just a few runs, and the battery is already gone. I seeked warranty information, and they said that there is no warranty! They tried to sell me a new battery and a new adapater. And the staff was absolutely clueless and very very rude. I seeked to speak to the manager of the store, but they declined the same. Frustrated, I left and have the car sitting there for 10 days now, repenting that I should've gone for a better brand and better service. Had I bought this online, I couldve sent it back on the return policy and saved some money as well. Very disappointing experience with Modelart, and would highly advice people against this store. Hope this helps out someone who is seeking the same model in the thread.

Now that I have to buy something new anyway, can the experts suggest if I can purchase a thrid party battery and if the charger also needs to be bought? The current rating is: Li-lon 7.4/800 MAh BATTERY
