Surprised about the fascination here about low quality American cars.
However here are the 3 cars in the Indian market worth buying today

Suzuki Swift
Toyota Innova
Honda City

and 2 Iconic vehicles

Adhering to the thread name and indian car scene am giving my preferences but not in any specific order. These cars changed the face of indian car market.
1. Maruti 800 (Mother of all changes)
2. Tata Indica(Showed the world that Indians can build cars not only "rockets")
3. Mahindra Scorpio (India's own offroader)
4. New Honda City ( Radical Design)
5. Suzuki Swift ([COLOR=black][FONT=Times New Roman][SIZE=3]change form conservatism to exuberance[/SIZE][/FONT][/COLOR])

2. maruti swift...(best looking small car)

3. ford mondeo....(best drivers car)

Top 5 Indian Cars:

1. Skoda Octavia 1.9 Tdi - fantastic allrounder. never met an owner who's cribbed about it.

2. Fiat Uno D - The wunderchild killed by Fiat India. Large-hearted, and what a handler! Only an Uno D driver would know what I'm talking about. Still have mine - its got 95k on the clock and its 5 = yrs old.

3. Maruti Esteem - Truly, the first car on Indian roads for the reluctantly maturing boy racer. Mod-friendly, and ruthlessly loyal.

4. Palio 1.6 - The Italian stallion. I've seen many a bigger car being hunted down by this pocket rocket.

5. Rover (Sipani) Montego - Another great car slain by non-existent service. Had a sunroof, power-everything, and a very very responsive diesel unit. A bit pricey in its time though. The price tag and the service sent this car south rapidly.
