Mumbai: Noted Bollywood actor and television star Sushant Singh Rajput reportedly committed suicide on Sunday. As per preliminary investigation, he was found hanging at his Bandra residence.

His demise came as a shock to many as this is the fourth death of a famous personality from the Hindi film industry to pass away in the past two months, after Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor succumbed to cancer and Wajid Khan from the Sajid-Wajid duo fell prey to the coronavirus pandemic.

Condolences poured in from all quarters for the highly-talented actor who won several awards for his roles in movies like M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, PK and Kedarnath.

Sushant’s death comes just barely a week after his former manager Disha Salian committed suicide last Monday by jumping off the 14th floor of her apartment in Mumbai.
May he rest in peace.

This is really shocking. He was so positive in his movies. Especially as MS Dhoni. He struggled, succeeded, reached the A list...and now this. Superb actor and dancer. Hope his soul rests in peace

This is very shocking. An amazing actor and dancer. Rest in peace.

Off topic but I saw media personnel crowding his house, are they immune to covid and what if they spread the virus to his family members?

Hard to believe, not sure what else this year has in store.

His last movie 'Chichore' dealt with the topic of suicide only, irony.

Really shocking and disappointing to see the way Media has labeled it as a suicide even without an investigation. Wouldn't 'Found hanging' be a better and more sensible statement. If he was murdered then his murderers have already been acquitted by our great media.

Such a handsome looking man. What was bothering him? I feel so sad that there was something bugging him which we were completely unware of. Mental health must be our top most priority. During this lockdown there can be a lot of incidents/flashbacks relapsing in our mind that can be really unhealthy. A talk and some emotional support during his tough times could have saved him.
Rest in peace, you shall always be remembered. Sending love to Sanjay.

Shocked & saddened. A life too young, taken away. Loved his performance in MS Dhoni & Kai Po Che. Must say, 2020 is turning out to be a wretched year with the coronavirus, cyclone, an impending recession, this...and we still have 6 months to go!

A Dr. friend of mine had this to comment today upon seeing this May instagram post of his. " He's talking about dark energy etc here, clearly states his mental state was not in a good space if you think of it now retrospectively."

May his soul RIP!

Very true, few days back his manager also commited suicide, and jumped from 14th floor. Could be foul play here, should be investigated.

May the departed soul RIP, gone too soon.

Off topic post

Do we have a thread on depression? If not, can we start one about How to keep a check on our mental state and ways to tackle depression.

Thanks.

There is a vast difference between Reel Life and Real Life.

In the recent past, the suicide by creamy layer has surpassed those committed by poverty. Maybe higher one rises, expectations rise much higher, never within control and reach.

R.I.P.

It is perfectly okay to feel weak and absolutely normal to cry in front of others. Being strong is admitting that we feel weak and to seek help when needed.

RIP Sushant and that poor girl Disha Salian :( May your souls rest in peace.

re: R.I.P. Sushant Singh Rajput

I have seen only one movie of his, the Dhoni movie. I was very impressed with his acting. I was very saddened to hear the news. Was also shocked to hear he was depressed for many months.

It is time people could openly talk about their mental issues, and not cast a stigma on it. I have known people who needed therapy, but the very suggestion may result in breaking the relationship.
