Update:

First floor walls are almost complete. Both interior and exterior walls are aerated concrete blocks of 6 inches. On the ground floor electric piping along the wall is complete rest is along the floor. All window and door granite framing is complete. The Concealed copper piping for Air conditions and relative plumbing for the ground floor is complete. The ground floor interior is ready for plaster work.

I am using Birla premixed plaster bags of 40 kgs each. Little expensive compared to conventional mixing of sand and cement but it has fibers (to prevent cracks) and waterproofing agents mixed in the bag itself. This also helps in quality control and consistent strength through out.

The Ac's on the ground floor are 2 Cassette, 2 ton each for the living area and 1.5 ton split for the bedroom.

Hopefully by the time Ground floor plaster begins in a couple of days, the first floor will be ready for electric/AC and plumbing work so that I can move that team from ground to first without a gap in work.

Latest update:

It has been exactly 3 months since work started. The internal plaster for both ground floor and first floor is complete. Waterproofing for all washrooms is finished and plumbing for ground floor washrooms and kitchen is done. The pump room for the swimming pool is finished and decided to extend the patio over the pump room.

The external plaster has started and the south side wall is completed. All granite door and window frame is compete. We have finalized the tiles for the entire house except the outside Patio, hopefully tiling work will start by the end of this week.

Update:

All the civil/structure work is complete.
Wash room plumbing is complete and the tile work has started.
Preparation for wall painting has started (Plaster of paris).
Safety rail for first floor balconies is installed.
Kitchen platform (Granite) is complete.
The work of staff house has started which is a simple room.

Selecting tiles and fittings is very time consuming and confusing but we finally managed to finalize it.

Sorry for not updating this thread.

Lots of work has been completed the past month.

1. Exterior Painting is complete
2. All the tiling work is complete
3. Most of the windows are installed
4. Doors and kitchen cabinet is work in progress
5. Electric wiring is complete
6. Interior wall putty and ceiling painting is complete

Lots of work to do still but have set 22nd April as completion date (Pooja). All the furniture is already delivered and sitting in the warehouse.

The Farm house is finally complete. Took a total of 6 months 22nd October 2022 to 21st April 2023. We spent our first weekend there. Some art work and minor work is still pending along with landscape which I will start in monsoon.

Last 15 days was hectic since I set the target of 21st April 2023 which is my sons birthday but it was all worth it.

Thank you all for the wishes. The past 6 months was fun and now that the house is ready we cannot get enough of it. Here are some pictures with brief information about the house.

1. Master bedroom

The master bedroom is on the first floor. It is the smaller of the rooms but has the largest bathroom. There is balcony along the length of the room which also connects to the Kids bedroom. The poster bed was bought online from Ganpati arts.







The bathroom has a stand alone tub and a separate shower cubicle along with the view of the entire valley. The wardrobe is from pepper fry. Actually 90% of the furniture is from pepper fry.







2. Kids Bedroom

The kids bedroom is also on the first floor and the room is the largest in the house along with a decent size bathroom. All the furniture in the room is from peppery and most of the light fittings are from crawford market which was our go to place since past 1 month.







The bathroom has a simple tub which is also the shower area. Do note the ceiling fan in all the bathrooms.







3. Guest bedroom

The guest bedroom is on the ground floor and is wheel chair accessible. This bedroom has direct access to the pool and patio area.








The bathroom is the smallest with a shower cubicle.







4. 1st Floor living area/play area

This is small place where I intend to keep games, carom and maybe a foosball table. The carom along with its stand and chairs have been bought. This space also has a balcony facing the east side.





5. Living room

The living room on the ground floor has an open kitchen along with an island platform. There is small powder room attached to the living room. The leather sofa, wing chairs and the center table are from pepperfry and the rest of the furniture was made on site. The dining table is a granite slab placed on a fabricated metal base. All the curtains are roller blind type.







6. The patio and the swimming pool

The infinity swimming pool is 24 feet x 12 feet x 4 feet deep. The filtration system is automatic which is in a room under the patio along with a store room. The patio is the most used place in the house with panoramic view of the entire valley.


The large windows have rolling shutter as a security grill.









The hand rials along the patio and the steps on the patio have inverted LED strips for indirect lighting.







I have to take pictures of the infrastructure like inverter, water pressure pump, central voltage stabilizer, bore well and many other small things that are not seen but are equally important. I will post some of those pictures along with some technical points in the next post. The artwork for the walls will also be installed by next week.

What is the total plot size on which the house is made and what is the total land size. I am planning to do something similar and your thread is definitely going to help me a lot

Can you share what is the total Square Feet of Construction and the cost per Sq. Ft if you don't mind. This is to have a general idea for all who are thinking of making such a house in a remote area.
BTW, hope you have a softener installed as the bore water will ruin your plumbing in a year with its high TDS.
