Devarshi, at the onset I will say I am a huge Lancer fan and user. I admire your spirit and initiative and wish you good luck.

Now, I have one logical question to ask of you.

How many of these 20 people who have already typed "I am in" will be able to afford a Rs. 12-13 lac car in or before 2008?

So why should any company take the words of a bunch of random car lovers seriously, when they don't take ready-to-buy customers seriously enough?

And if we're voting to bring cars into India that we can't afford anyways, why not vote for cars better and far more expensive than the Mitsubishi Lancer?

@Sam: valid point, but if you check, then most of us are lancer owners, new or old.Spending 1-2 lacs above is certainly affordable. I certainly cannot add to this post asking people to mention if they can afford to buy a lancer at 14lacs or not. can I?

And if you can afford one and are looking to buy one. Type in the golden words.

I am a Lancer owner. But many of your voters (all like younger brothers to me) don't have a car yet. Many are young and haven't even started on their first jobs, or have landed new jobs a year or two old, and cannot buy a car in 2008 and certainly not one that costs more than 10lacs. Their votes will not matter to Mitsubishi or HM.

As for the people that can afford it, today even the Cedia is not selling because there are many options at it's price and HM has made brand Mitsubishi = mud.

But your enthusiasm and optimism can only make me smile.

OK I'll say this.
If the new (10th) generation Lancer is sold in India at 2 lacs more than the current price of the Cedia, I will stand in line to buy it in 2008. So given that:

I am in.

Good Luck.

Lancer owner here.... I AM IN

But I agree with the others who said this... Mitsubishi need to get their a.s.s on track. Bidding adieu to HM would be a great start, though it's not a financially viable option for them. So I think we're pretty much stuck with HM for Mitsubishi cars.
How much would a new-gen Lancer cost? Around 12, as Sam says? True. Can I afford one right now? No
Will I save up for one? Yes!

PS: I hate to be pessimistic, but I doubt this thread/petition will really help. No harm trying tho
