Re: Regarding domain name service providers in India

I bought the domain on squarebrothers.com but I host on hawkhost - trustworthy good guys (owners replied themselves till ~2 years back, now also quick techie response, no "pls wait 4 hours").

Using both for ~7 years and ~2-5 domains with no complaints.

Gandi is french. Godaddy is american. But the nice thing about the Internet is that you can register that domain from anywhere you like, pay using a credit card. Or use tucows - that too is quite decent.

Most of the local players aren't terribly professional so I wouldn't quite recommend them. Though Directi is a sort of exception, got itself acquired recently by Endurance International Group, that's picked up several midsized webhosts recently and now got themselves a registrar.

A good friend recently launched his website - he bought the domain from godaddy and hosted on blue host - wasn't happy with his experience at blue host.

Re: Regarding domain name service providers in India

Getting a domain name and hosting a website under that name are essentially separate activities. You could use any domain name provider to purchase and renew your domain name. For hosting the website you will need a good service provider.

Net4India is an Indian hosting provider, although I have heard positive reviews from friends about GoDaddy.

Re: Regarding domain name service providers in India

I have not had very good results with indian hosting providers - one of the very few that's any good is e2e networks https://www.e2enetworks.com/

US providers that are very decent - I host with softlayer (recently acquired by ibm), then bluehost is actually fairly good, but they've been spotty lately.

Re: Website hosting + Email solution

For domain name registration, net4.in (Indian company) and pairnic.com (American) are both top class.

Can i just buy a domain name for my blog and keep it hosted on blogger only?

Will I be eligible for google adsense in that way?

pair is a very old company - and still run by old time *nix geek types. Strongly recommended though they aren't the cheapest in the market.

Net4 - I haven't had very good experiences but that was several years back and maybe that's just me.

Do you even require your own domain name for adsense? Given that Blogger & Adsense are both Google-owned, they should play well together.

I did, but this shows up now. Earlier whenever I applied it was disapproved and now I can't even reapply for it.

Did you read the requirements & meet all the criteria?

One example of a helpful guide
(It says your own domain name is required)

Re: Website hosting + Email solution

Hi guys, I've a few web domains that I want to renew. BigRock is ~700/domain.

Looking for advice if any low cost option is available.

Thanks in advance.
