re: Padma Vibhushan Ratan N Tata passes away at 86

Rest in peace, Mr. Ratan Tata. Thank you for everything that you have done, in so many ways.

It says so much about the man, the legacy that he was born into, and one that he took to upheld and took to greater heights, that when you hear the name Tata, you are sure that the the workings of the company will be moral and just.

It says so much about the man, that when something goes wrong when dealing with a Tata product, you feel you can invoke his name and remind everyone of his principles and expect resolution.

There really is no one like him. In a world such as todays, there might be no one like him.

May his memory be alive in the values he propagated.

This loss feels personal. And I’m sure every Indian aged between 10-100 would feel the same!

Feel equally bad for BHPian cityscrambler (Shantanu Naidu).

NDTV showed a small clip of his and Ratan ji last night where Shantanu was patting him lovingly on his back! Such a camaraderie they both shared despite the generations gap!

The Man, The Legend, The Myth - Mr Ratan Naval Tata (28 December 1937 – 9 October 2024)

"I don’t believe in taking right decisions. I take decisions and then make them right."

"If you want to walk fast, walk alone. But if you want to walk far, walk together."

Words from the Legendary Mr Ratan Naval Tata.

Today the world lost a gem - Mr Ratan N Tata. Words would fail to describe this truly amazing gentleman. The journey from a young energetic boy to grand old man of World Business Stage, was fraught with up's and down's.
To fill in the shoes of Bharat Ratan Shri JRD Tata, was a monumental task in itself and when you do it remarkably so well that the world bows down to you, speaks a lot about you.
Words won't do justice to such a man who truly had the courage to take on the world by its horns. Some decisions good some went astray but his resolve to do the right always stood there.
You may have left this world but your legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
Shraddhanjali to the Legend.

I was posting this picture in my WA status yesterday morning with the caption "A Nano Venture". The Venture is mine and looking at the Nano, the image of Ratan Tata, the visionary, sprung to my mind and also was thinking how Nano in EV guise would've fared if it were to be launched today.

Today, he's no more. RIP Legend !

"... because promise is a promise" - Ratan Tata at Tata Nano launch.

I always remember these words; teary eyed then and now.

Re: Padma Vibhushan Ratan N Tata passes away at 86

During my very small 2 year stint at Tata Motors, I have seen the employees & especially, blue collar team members saying that मी देव नाही पाहिला पण रतन टाटा सरांना बघितलं !
(I have not seen the god, but I have seen Ratan Tata Sir).

Also, I have heard many stories from the Indica & Nano days from the Proto Shop team like he will come there just to have a casual talk & call individuals with their names.
This shows how kind (& grounded) he was.

There will be many more Ambanis, Adanis & Birlas but there can't be another Ratan Tata.

Bharat has lost its "Ratan" !
The man who inspired us to work selflessly for the nation.
भावपूर्ण श्रद्धांजली "Ratan Tata" Sir.
Your life has been & will be an inspiration for generations to come.
You will live in our hearts forever.

RIP, sir! One in a billion for sure! His last tweet just 2 days back when rumours were circulating like wild fire and he clarified things were all well:

Re: Padma Vibhushan Ratan N Tata passes away at 86

Woke up to the sad news. RIP.

Very few business leaders epitomize the group which carries their name or that of their family. Ratan Tata was one of them. As a business leader, not all of his decisions yielded results but he was one who admitted his mistakes and remedied them. Times were propitious and he made good use of it. They say that the first gen diligently builds, the second enjoys the fruits and the third whittles it away. He proved the proverb wrong or maybe not. Time only will tell.

Sad to see the end of an era. A much-respected, great, and humble industrialist, philanthropist and a visionary. We truly lost a gem of India, Sri Ratan Tata. :(

Re: Padma Vibhushan Ratan N Tata passes away at 86

He funded some, he founded some; he rescued some, he rounded some; he was a pillar, he was a pioneer; an entrepreneur and enthusiast par excellence - Ratan Tata was a businessman unlike any. Humane to the core, hero to many, he always proffered a helping hand with a healing touch.

The uniqueness of the Tata ecosystem that lies in it being self sustaining and mutually nourishing is a contribution that Ratan Tata must surely be credited for.

Although retired for a few years now, he rarely looked tired. Hope he will find the next world to be better than ours; and in case it actually isn't, that he will get on with the task of tidying it up!

You will remain in our hearts forever; and of course through these enterprises.

Re: Padma Vibhushan Ratan N Tata passes away at 86

A truly rich person in terms of knowledge and kind heartedness and saddened to know that India now will have to leap ahead without one of the industry titans responsible for the foundation. A man who has donated more than a fair share of what he has made, the loss feels personal and I know for a fact many resonate the same.

RIP Legend, A remarkable businessman and a technically brilliant mind as well.
