Re: Padma Vibhushan Ratan N Tata passes away at 86

An absolute true, humble, people oriented, do what is right legend ! I think we are all blessed to have him born in our country and having seen his ethic first hand. Legendary !

Met him once for a brief 20 odd mins with my ex-boss who took me along for a meeting - man - Sir Tata in every sentence spoke about good for people, good for the country, do what is right ! of course all I could do was keep quiet while discussions were on and just keep looking at the legend and absorbing what he was saying ! My biggest learning was its not about the money , never, was do what is is right and stay true to your moral compass that stayed with me and the tribute I make is I have stayed true to that thought to date ! I cannot still comprehend why this feels like a personal loss while I have only met him for 20 odd mins about a decade and a half ago !

RIP legend !

Re: Padma Vibhushan Ratan N Tata passes away at 86

Today is one of those days when one genuinely feels a loss of a public figure as a personal loss. There was something about this legend, the way he lived his life and carried the legacy of his business family not only as a business powerhouse but as true humanist also.

Like most here, I have had no personal connect with him but still feels that I had. I think that's what distinguishes great leaders from the rest.

RIP Shri Ratan Tata! Thank you for visiting our world.

I couldn't sleep all night after realising he has passed. Mr Tata was a personal inspiration, and he was flawless.
He deserved the highest honours of the country, and I wish he is posthumously bestowed for years to come.
I am sure people have cursed even God plenty of times, but for Mr. Tata, I am yet to hear or read a single word in a negative manner.
RIP sir, you are unmatched

Om shanti!
One of the very few individuals who commanded immense respect without asking for it and one of the nicest human beings who has inspired a lot of people.
You will be missed, sir!

Re: Padma Vibhushan Ratan N Tata passes away at 86

It was a morning shock to me. I usually listen to the news while driving to the office quickly. Today, when I was driving to the office, a sudden shocking news pierced my ears.

I lost in the news, forgot about the office, took my car to the side of the road, and mourned for 5 min till I regained reality. All the memories of 8 years have flown through my eyes from when I joined the prestigious group till my last day of work at Tata Motors.

Rest In Peace, SIR.

A MAN WHO ESTABLISHED BUSINESS BEYOND PROFIT

This one felt personal. Even for someone who hasn’t owned many Tata products or worked in a Tata company. Tata under Ratan-ji’s stewardship had been so synonymous with the industrial development of India as well as its social welfare. This was a person who genuinely cared about building the nation and bringing its people out of poverty - even if it meant not making a massive profit. I’m sure Ratan-ji can rest in peace knowing that he left his group and the nation both which he loved dearly in an unimaginably better place than before he found it.

Re: Padma Vibhushan Ratan N Tata passes away at 86

A very sad loss for India. Reminds me of the time just before the takeover of JLR, me and my team were in Detroit for a meeting at Ford. We went to a hotel near the Ford World headquarters and were in the lobby when Mr Tata came down from the lift. Seeing a bunch of Indians standing there, he asked us as to what we were there for. I responded by saying that we had a meeting at Ford. I, in turn, asked him as to what he was there for - and he replied that he was also there for a meeting at Ford !! None of us knew that he was there to buy JLR !! It was so kind of him to take the time to talk to us. Om Shanti

Re: Padma Vibhushan Ratan N Tata passes away at 86

For me Mr Ratan Tata is not just a man, He's a feeling!

I'm unable to comprehend, how does a man, about whom i don't know much, have just used his products, have not seen his interviews, have not met or thought about much, but still today his passing feels that I've lost something.
If i feel such a way, i am truly sad to know how people who knew him must be feeling right now.

To me, despite not knowing much about him, just a couple of observations about him has made a huge impact on my mind:
A highly successful businessman, but the humble way he lived despite all that success, money at his disposal. His simple attire was all that was needed to speak volumes about him.
Never heard anything bad or negative about him in all these years.
To successfully give livelihood to scores of the populace and put us on the map, dedicating his life to it.
The above things are all that i know, but more than enough to gauge the greatness of this legend.

Mr Ratan Tata, even after passing on, you are giving hope and inspiring millions. Thank you for being you. I'm going to learn more about you and learn from you and will make sure my toddler knows of and learns from you too and takes amazing personas as you as his role models in life.

Shantanu Naidu (cityscrambler on TeamBhp), long time companion of Mr. Tata, in his message on LinkedIn, very aptly refers to the icon as a lighthouse.
