This is my first post on the thread so do not know if this chain of Ice cream parlours have been discussed here before. If so them MODS please delete this post.

IMO Bangy has the best Ice-cream shops in the form of Corner House.
I find them way better than Baskin Robbins or anything else for that matter.
Guys from Delhi will disagree, because I know that you have Nirula's and its hot chocolate fudge to drool over.
But having tried both places, and being a regular at Corner House, I have a small little place carved out for Corner House in my heart.
"Death By Chocolate" popularly called DBC by the regulars, is the signature preparation. Choco Brownies at the lowest layer, 3 scoops of rich vanilla, dollops of hot chocolate sauce (they never see how much they are putting, more you want, more they'll put until the bowl overflows :D ) and then top it up with fresh cream, fresh cherries and nuts! What an experience!
The beauty of DBC lies in the fact that just one layer maybe regular fare, but when you dig the spoon deep down into the bottom of the bowl and draw your spoon back, you have the most amazing combo of a warm brownie, hot choco sauce and cold ice-cream with nutty filling in between.
That is an absolutely beautiful feeling!

Those who havent tried, please go today!
Those who have, I dont have anything to say to you, I know you are already hardcore loyals!

Preetam, the passion in your post is already giving my DBC cravings!

I agree though. The DBC is my alltime favourite icecream dessert. However, for some reason, I dont get the taste I used to from the old Residency Road Corner House. The taste of the chocolate sauce has changed I feel.

Anyway, it is an awesome dessert for sure.

And the Cake Fudge is brilliant too. It's very similar to the DBC but a little smaller.

Meghna's is brilliant.

Been there yesterday. Those who love hyderabadi biryani may find it very good. But the biryani offered too us had very less Masala, and it was more of steamed colour rice + some mutton pieces. It was a bit spicier too
But I love more of Nandini biryani

It's practically next to La Casa. Very close to Jayanagar Telephone Exchange and the Barista.

Yep.
Easiest is Jayanagar 4th block bus stop, take left, Coffeeday take left, it's towards your right. 1st floor.

However, we went to the Lavelle Road branch recently and oh boy! It was FANTASTIC!!

Yep he has a good buffet too. 1 chicken dish + 3 veg dishes along with Rotis and Rice, An icecream for Rs 123+ tax. Nice ambience though.

Guys, guys, guys! Let's head to Mantri Square, Malleswaram! Taco Bell has opened up there and I love Mexican food! Anyone interested? Let's make it happen over the weekend?! :)

agree:
Even I have observed the same Nikhil.
The sauce has degraded in consistency, and has become thinner.
It has also become less sweeter than before.
Even then, DBC has remained a favorite and always will.
I am not a regular at the Residency road Corner house, but I'm a regular at the Koramangala and Jayanagar outlets though!

As for the cake fudge, I would have a BROWN BOMB (Read : DBC's Younger brother) instead of a cake fudge if I am too full, but then again, I have a dedicated compartment for DBC in my heart as well as my stomach!! lol:

As for Corner House's own version, here is what they have to say about DBC:
"Ever since we moved to serving only ice creams back in 1995, we’ve been serving Death By Chocolate. Now an institution by itself in Bangalore City, DBC is by far the most ultimate chocolate fantasy.

This delectable offering has ice cream, dark chocolate cake, fresh cream, honey, cherries, nuts and oodles of our signature chocolate sauce.

In other words, if you want chocolate in your ice cream – you get it."

Be prepared for the massive traffic jams on weekends there.
Heard good reviews abt Taco bell

I know exactly what you mean Preetam, I have been frequenting Corner House ( joint which in between Lavelli Road and St Marks Road ) for some time now and if am not full DBC is the first order we make:D

For some spicy hyderabadi biryani you guys can also visit Hyderabadi Biryani House on victoria road ( between India Garage and Lifestyle on old airport road), and if one is in the mood for some extra spicy biryani they can order for a biryani with double masala you will love it.

Went to Taco Bell and could not find place to stand even on a weekday evening....so gave up and went up to the food court.

Guys, how about a proper "meat" tomorrow at The Only Place, museum road?
