SRK v Ganguly

We all know how popular Ganguly is in East-India. Ganguly's KKR jersey number is 1. But all the replica KKR jerseys (worn by fans in Kolkatta) have the number 12.

To cut long story short, SRK's jersey number is 12.

Its not what you think. The replica shirt sold by Reebok comes in No. 12 only.

Why not No 1? Why No 12?
SRK's conspiracy to upstage Ganguly in Bengal ?. Very much possible.

Autherton dissects IPL - Arrogant IPL owners must admit mistakes - Times Online
Quote:
Are Rajasthan Royals the Oakland A's of cricket? Devotees of excellent sporting literature will need no introduction to Moneyball, a terrific yarn about how the A's, a relatively low-budget baseball team ($41million - about £22million - to spend on players counts as low budget in American sport), consistently outperformed their more illustrious and wealthier rivals by dint of the unorthodox coaching methods of Billy Beane, their general manager.
Quote:
The cheapskates Rajasthan, meanwhile, have carried all before them. With Lachlan Murdoch, a director of News Corporation, parent company of The Times, among their backers they can hardly be said to be paupers, but they sat back at the first auction, surveying the ego-driven carnage around them, before nipping in with some bargain-basement buys in the second. Among their shrewd decisions was that captaincy would prove to be crucial. In Shane Warne they have the best leader in the tournament. Statistically, they also have the best player, Shane Watson, who happened to be, at $125,000, one of the cheapest buys.

This week's quotes:

"Twenty20 is not cricket. It's pure entertainment. VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid batting out a whole day against the Australians - now that is cricket."
Prolific author Jeffrey Archer isn't afraid to cut loose, right in the middle of the madness called the IPL

"Had I been 21, I would easily have cracked this."
Rahul Dravid, 35, wishes Twenty20 had existed even earlier

"I need to be a little more patient at this level and that is something I would like to improve on as fast as possible."
Amit Jaggernauth, West Indies' debutant offspinner, is impatient to develop patience

"My team told me that they have yet to meet a better human being than me. This is a huge compliment."
Kolkata franchise owner Shah Rukh Khan doesn't have time for false modesty

Of course - he is correct. Only a good human being will pay these guys so much money only to loose and give him his chance of cribbing and getting the media glare on him.

Today DD take on RR.

Irony is that RR ensured DD entered the semi-finals. But RR now are at the wrong end of the barrel of DD !!
