Just curious, is it market rate? Since that person would have spent 10 years in education + up to 5 years exp.

Are there other remunerations, like some fees per procedure?

Asking because I thought doctors would be earning much more.

My sister as s fresher started with around 50K/month (with small hospitals) and their work hours is more than we put into IT.

Apollo should pay a little more + working in Chennai deserves addition allowances

Was there any remuneration apart from 50k (E.g. per procedure) ?

Surprising part was 40k amount in Chennai for someone with 5 years experience.

That is how pay is in corporate medicine. High pay is only for a few at the top. For the rest, it is mostly slave labor in the name of getting experience.

The market rate is much higher in the north. Chennai is ok. In Bangalore a fresher will earn only 25k. And no additional fees. Of course you can have some private practice in your free time. An orthopedic surgeon only starts making real money after 45-50 years.
