You're right. I was listening to some statements by the Minister of State of Internal Security immediately after the blasts, and all he had to say was "this is a state government issue, they should have done the necessary" when he was asked to comment on the blasts.

Forum sent out everyone and downed shutters by 2:30.There was a LOT of security and media at the hosur rd/St.Johns road junction where the bus stand was hit.But apart from that traffic was smooth even at 3Pm when I left (christ)college.Do call the mall.

Hats of to the Bangalore Police for maintaing order during this ordeal.

Drive safe guys.

Apparently some enthu news channels reported Shivajinagar also being targeted but this was hogwash.

My office is a hop-skip jump from the bus stand and we got so many calls asking if we were ok

Hats off to Bangalore Police who have maintained peace in the city! If it was any other city, a total bundh would have been called for and people would panic even more.

I believe that the entire episode was handled quite proffesionally.

The question is why?
Why would anybody blast low intensity explosives, which doesn't cause much damage? To scare? Scare who?

To add to the melee I was inundated by many SMS's with wild exaggerations. Come to think of it, such inaccurate communications only cause more fear and panic.

To create uneasiness in our minds and give a sense of insecurity. Also to ignite any hatredness/riot amongst people. These are the easiest answers which comes to mind.
We may get more answers if we ponder a bit more.

The onus is upon us to ignore these cowards and work against them in unity.

These "can be" a tactics to show Govt. is not capable of maintaining Law & order in state. Politics aside, no one really knows why unless the person whokept comes and tells. Until then, so many guess work wil be floating around.

One thing is for sure. Whoever did this, should be caught as soon as possible. Our police are also doing wonderful jobs with the minimal equipemnts they have. We should thank them for such activities and increase their pride.

Yesterday, while the mobile networks were jammed and I couldn't make any outgoing calls to friends/family for over 1/2 hour; my phone rang and who do I have on the other side???

Folks from ICICI.. Would you like to go for the ICICI platinum credit card sir?.

I cut short the conversation quickly; however, I was amazed at how their calls were going through? Do the call center calls have higher priority than regular folks?

Couldn't help but be amused at the irony of the situation at the moment. Reports of blast's in the city, people can't call their dear one's and yet business as usual for many folks...

PS: No offense to ICICI or the person calling. They are just doing their job to earn their livelyhood.
