In Team-bhp mega meets we have to take such kind of snaps. anybody have any idea? or may be it is taken from satellite.

thanks mobike, It is noisy,but in low light conditions, the only way to bring out some colour is to accept come noise. what i hope someone can do for me is to tell me how that can be changed.

Xehausts version of my pic was nice. it was noisier than the original, but it had great contrast and saturation. I generally prefer my pics looking like that.

samurai's version was much clearer than both mine and xehaust's but it lacked the saturation that I was looking for, but quite a few people prefer samurai's style of post processing.

@brraj- the first pic should be possible with a normal cam, i think. its a matter of getting the perpective right.

the second pic could be done with a 360 degree angle lens. I've seen a video cam like that on Discovery.

@brraj: Seeing the extreme distortion it must be from a fish-eye lens. Infact I have seen the 2nd picture somewhere before. Not able to recollect where.

umm guys that pic is not from fisheye lens of 360 degree lens. Its using Post processing.
The technique is called creating mini planets from circular panaromas.
They are created by stiching multiple images

here is my first attempt at HDR.

the 1st pic is the result of applying photomatix's HDR technique on 3 images. the 2nd is the 1st of the series of 3(lowest exposure), that I placed here to show what a massive difference HDR makes in landscape photos. the other 2 images in that series also look very similar to the 2nd pic, and you actually wonder if you will ever be able to make anything good out the 3 huge files you've saved on your memory card.

but the end result, IMO, is totally worth it.
If any of the experts could help me out with the tone mapping , i'm sure my pics could look better.

I think you take good pictures but for some reason, they come out dull.
You are right that your pictures can look better, much better in fact.

Here are your above two pictures. I have attached two versions of the second picture.

I particularly loved the 1st picture with a hint of clear blue sky under the clouds and surrounding the trees.
