If there is not much relief, then you may have to use thicker supplements in the form of gels (EyeMist Gel/ Refresh Liquigel)

She may be partly right too (Hope you don't get into trouble because of this), Dry eyes are a part of Computer Vision Syndrome
Thanks Doc. Will try tear supplements & revert.

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

Hi,

I wore braces for 4 years and know your son's agony only too well. I used to keep a chapati handy and tear off pieces and stuff them around the offending bracket.

Sadly there were no alternatives to this (having a recurrent case of tonsillitis, I was told to abstain from chewing gums).

However, the rubber band used on the front brackets was thicker and never used to trouble the skin. It was only if the wire broke than ulcers developed.

Hope you find a solution soon.

Cheers

The brace fitted on this particular tooth is causing a large painful ulcer in the mouth. The orthodontist suggested to always keep a wad of chewing gum on it, apart from applying painkilling gel. She said this has to be managed till the tooth starts to move down, and there is no other way.

I took him to another dentist to see if the offending brace could be polished, but he said the attempt will remove the brace from the tooth. He also suggested the chewing gum regimen, so I have followed it for the past five days. The ulcer is almost healed now, but the chewing gum has to be in place always. I remove it every morning to enable him to brush, and replace fresh gum afterwards. But even this brief period is causing him discomfort.

Is there a better way to manage this? An internet friend from another forum, a dental surgeon in the Grand Cayman, has suggested placing a ball of orthodontic wax on it. But my son's orthodontist as well as the other dentist I took him to say it is not a good idea.

Apart from this there are no other ulcers, and he seems to be getting comfortable with the braces.

Thanks BoneCollector. I havent done the x-ray as its a minor sprain and there is no swelling. The pain is exactly at the center of the wrist.

Hi,
I have these pain in my stomach for over a month now, it started with the pain in right upper stomach and went on to pain in other parts of my stomach and also it pain in my lower chest area quite a few times. Sometimes because of it, i have light headedness (Like slight drowsiness). I have seen a doctor for it, and he prescribed to me non acidity and vitamin capsule for stomach, had these for almost 15 days now, it had reduced the occurence of pain but didn't completely cure it. I have stopped the medicine since saturday, i think it has not helped much. I have recently read on internet that it maybe gastritis, but i am not sure. Any help will be appreciated, by the way i am 23. Do i need to say i am male(being on car enthusiast site)lolzz.

Upper right stomach in your terms i ll consider its below the right chest. if that is right then consider an Ultrasound abdomen. if turns out normal then can consider gastritis. but i suggest do some research on the doctor instead of disease and go to him and trust his treatment. Few mins of internet knowledge cannot replace years of experience. Ha ha you ll end up loosing sleep if yo take suggestions from net bro

Apollo Dental Clinic - Annanagar, Chennai

Dear Experts,

I have my wisdom tooth(one at the corner) growing horizontally as seen in the x-ray taken around 2 years ago. I was advised removal of the same. How good is apollo dental clinic in terms of the such procedures?

My first visit to the clinic did not give me enough confidence to get my tooth removed:
1.) The dental equipment area was dirty wrapped in a plastic sheet
2.) Did not smell fresh, room was not well lit.
3.) The doctor did not use mouth mask while investigating my teeth nor did she use any lights, I wondered what kind of protocol is in place at Apollo.
4.) Duty doctor there suggested taking an X-ray, so after a 20 minutes wait she came back saying the X-ray is not working
4.) Collected 300/- as consultation fee for doing nothing.

Given a quote in the range 3k to 5k rupees which I think is a rip-off.
Can someone please suggest me a good place in Chennai?

Thanks,
Bean

I go to Dr Rangarajan in Lloyds Rd (next to AIDMK).

His prices have gone up a lot over the six years I've known him, but then that is true of vegetable sellers too! His clinic is not very flash, but it is presentable and clean, and the equipment is modern: I think he would be shocked at your experience. He was recommended to me by my doctor.

iDentity clinic

Dr.T.V.Padmanabhan, Gopalakrishnan Street, Off Pondy Bazar. As you approach from Panagal park side, take the first left after HSB and then right opp. to Viveks. His clinic is next to the lab of Dr.Iravatham on this street, on the first floor. He is a dental surgeon and his wife is an orthodontist. Both are professors at SRMU. Clinic phone number is 28152198.

Many years ago his clinic was near my home and I had gone to him for extracting a wisdom tooth. He did not even use forceps and pulled it off with just two hook like rods, without any fuss. Mine was not horizontal of course, but that experience made a deep impression on me. So when my 11 year old son required four extractions recently prior to fixing of braces, I searched and located him. He did the extractions in a jiffy and his wife fitted the braces after a week!

Addiction to coffee

This is a serious problem according to me. Thought i'll post it here before consulting my family physician and/or get better suggestions here. I can skip my morning black coffee, but if i don't have coffee at night before sleeping, i get a migraine the next day that lasts 5-6 hours & no paracetamol/ibuprofen seems to help. If i even binge out with friends on booze once a fortnight, i have to make sure to have my glass of milk with coffee or black coffee else the next day is disastrous. I am so tired of it that i wouldn't mind a permanent solution. I don't like any addiction, everything should be in moderation, hence the concern.

We have had good experiences with the two following dentists:

1) Dr Ranjani Iyer, Sriram Nagar South Street, Alwarpet
2) Dr S. Ramachandran, West Circular Road, Mandavelli

Note the clinics aren't particularly jazzy, but the quality of work is good!

I can give you the phone numbers if your interested!

I appreciate your inputs. I met Dr Rangarajan on Wednesday, I had one of wisdom tooth removed the same day by a specialist oral surgeon. He has a list of Do's and Don't to be followed which was very helpful.

Would I visit this place again? YES

re: Calling doctors/dentists/specialists on Team-BHP to provide free consultations

Thank you @ Mr. BulZire for introducing me to this thread.

A very nice concept in an extremely nice forum.
Definitely, an online addition to the social service that we take pride and great happiness in doing offline on a regular basis.

Hello everyone,
About Me:
I am a 3rd generation Doctor & a 2nd generation Homoeopath. Though I am a Homoeopath by choice, love & passion I am also many other things at heart avid Nature Lover, trekker, Animal Lover and rights campaigner, Poet & Writer, Technology buff, Philosopher ... and ofcourse - Car & Bike Enthusiast.

Having worked with the best in the field of Medicine, Paediatrics & Orthopedics, being involved in the designing & structuring of Homoeopathic Softwares & organizing many seminars & events of local, national & international level for Medicine & Homeopathy...
I chose to walk my own path ... or as they say - put the top down and drive through the open road.

I started my own brand : Sunshine Homeopathy Clinic - with 3 branches in Mumbai (so far)
and another company : TechnoMedikss Pvt. Ltd.
and 2 other organizations : Homeopathy Army & Knowledge Junction.

I am open to any queries or questions of any sort on this forum.

Please bear in mind:
1. I will reply at my earliest and that is my promise. There will not be a day that I will post my reply on a automobile related thread and ignore this thread as Homoeopathy is my 1st love and I have voluntarily chose this profession to help mankind in general in any way that I can. But please be patient. There maybe days when I am genuinely busy and may not be able to log-in.

2. I am sorry I will not be able to offer my personal / professional email id or numbers (unless specifically asked for and approved by the moderators) - as it is clearly not intended to solicit new patients and also it will definitely be a little inconvenient

3. A standard disclaimer that is issued by all medical practitioners when consulting in any forum or online tool - especially when one has not seen the patient face to face and has not had the liberty of complete clinical examination applies to any and all of my prescriptions and advices - that the physician is not to be held responsible for any unfortunate event and proper consultation with a doctor is always advisable
(sorry friends, this sounds too harsh and technical, but we have to quote these legal sentences, even though we may not mean them from our hearts, my apologies for the same.)

4. I shall not indulge in any mud-slinging or defamation and neither will entertain or justify any such comment towards my science. I respect and consider equal all modes of health and cure. Allopathy (Modern Medicine), Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Yoga, Reiki, Accupuncture, Accupressure, Siddhi, Unani, Vitamins, Diet and Nutrition, Hypnotherapy.
All of them. I do not advocate all, neither discourage either. On this forum I shall pertain only to my scope and limitations as a Homoeopath despite the knowledge that I may posses on any of these other valid life sciences.

I shall follow up this post with a post of FAQs of Homoeoapthy to clear most doubts at the onset.

A warm hello to all the fellow Doctors on this community & thread.

Glad to be a part of this.

& a special Thank you - to Dr. Tejas for starting this thread.

Please check Tejas's note here - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/shifti...ml#post2362503

There is a separate thread for alternate medicine - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/shifti...ptions-13.html

The current thread is only for conventional medicine.

Docs, I get pus-boils either on my chin or my left eye. It happens at the very same spot, every couple of months. Why does that happen? I went to a doc the first time, he told me to burst the boil by using hot water. I know it's nothing major, but what should I do to prevent it from popping up again?
