How gory is it? While my wife and i love watching horror movies she balks at slasher type gore stuff.
Currently watching Marianne series on Netflix for want of good horror movies. |
Even I am not fan of such so called Horror movies. These ones have few scenes however quite bearable. Definitely not as gory as Saw series or any Zombie horror kind of genre.
Quick search and reading on Marianne and first impressions are good. Thanks!

Saw it last weekend. Part 1 and part 2 were good though I didn't really like the last part. As you said, it was too predictable. I was expecting some twists and turns. Also, the climax scene was slightly underwhelming.
But overall, a good one time watch. |
I agree. I also felt the first 2 parts were good. Third part was fine till mid-way I think. But then it went downhill.
But definitely a good one time watch and not too Gory either.
Wrath of Man—2.5/5, on Lionsgate Play.
It’s not a bad movie, a typical Hollywood action film loaded with violence. But it’s no Guy Ritchie movie! I’m a huge Guy Ritchie fan, and I go back often to watch movies like Snatch, Lock stock and two smoking barrels etc. Even loved his interpretation of Sherlock Holmes! His last movie, The Gentlemen also had his signature, although not clearly his best. But this one, Wrath of Man, does not look like it’s been directed by Guy Ritchie! I mean, anyone could have directed this! Hollywood anyway churns out many such movies every now and then! In fact I had a feeling that someone else Ghost directed this movie and Guy Ritchie just gave in his name for the money!
Don’t get me wrong, the movie wasn’t bad at all, a good action entertainer, but just don’t go looking for Guy Ritchie style! Actually it’s a Jason Statham movie more than anything else.
I wasn't sure about this movie when I heard about it but loved it once started watching it. There is not much to say about the story and all but the cinematography was top notch. A very stylized movie reminiscent of Kill Bill and John Wick. I would definitely recommend this movie.
My take 3.5/5. A solid movie worth a sequel.

Where did you watch this movie PJ1987. It’s not available on Netflix, Amazon Prime or Disney+ Hotstar.
Dear Team: It would be very helpful if while writing about a movie, you could also mention where it’s available for streaming.
Thank you!
Cheers

Hey Cyborg. It's available in Netflix USA. Please try accessing Netflix USA by using any VPN services.

A nice simple, heart warming warm movie. A sailboat, a guitar and a boy called sailboat in the Mojave :-)
Watched it in prime
Spooks : 2.5/5
A counter terrorism movie. Rather run of the mill counter terror movie, time pass.
Watched it in prime

Fellow members, if you do not have access to any streaming service (Netflix/Vudu etc.) or if your preferred content is not available for your location and you do not want to spend money buying VPN etc. you can try these:
FMOVIES(fmovies.app/home) : Movies
GotyTV(gotytv.com) : TV Series
Both these platforms have a pretty extensive and fresh collection of content spanning all major platforms (which gets updated pretty quickly). You can either watch in standard definition for free or pay a bit extra to watch in higher quality (HD/4K).
P.S: I have no connection to these platforms and do not know the legality of this so the moderators can delete this post if violates forum rules.
Wonder (2017) : 4.5/5

Another WWII movie but a different kind. Less action and more about the lives of folks involved in war. Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt have played their part very well.

I would give this movie 10 out of 5 stars. Wife loved it too.
Remembered an old movie - The 36th Chamber of Shaolin, that I saw in an iconic multiplex in Chennai in 1981 - the multiplex is all gone, but memories of the movie, and my outing remain.
Here is a short clip from the movie.

And here is a pic of that pedigree multiplex which housed three theaters - Safire, Emerald and Blue Diamond.

The Equalizer 1 & 2
I watch all Denzel movies since he is one of the legendary actors of our time.
The Equalizer series may not be on the list of his best movies but it has enough material to engage you.
The fact that it is directed by Antoine Fuqua who made the iconic Training Day also with Denzel makes them even more watchable.
The Equalizer is an intense action flick with dark undertones. For me it was time well spent.
The Equalizer 1 is available on Netflix
The Equalizer 2 on You Tube Movies
Hell or High Water
A modern day western staring Jeff Bridges and Chris Pine.
A must watch if you are a fan of western genre.
1917 on Sony Liv
The entirety of "1917," a drama set during World War I, follows a pair of young soldiers trying to deliver a message to stop an attack. It was not actually shot in one take, but rather a series of continuous, uncut shots that were then cleverly connected to give the feeling of one long take.
Brilliant movie. 4.5/5
