I would rate this movie of Yograj bhat a 3rd spot in his recent 3 movies.

1) Mungaaru Male== Takes all the honours, of being a finest movies made. Had lots of logic and sense, The locations were breathtaking, Splendid Karnataka, showcased so damn well. Music can be considered the Best in recent times.
Ganesh in the main lead with Diganth a cameo . 10/10

2) Gaalipata == Again a fun movie, Amazing locations, again unknown Karnataka showcased. Lovely music, Ganesh , Diganth and Singer Rajesh in lead. 10/10

3) Pancharangi == Already reviewed, Again Diganth in this movie. I give it a 8/10

Here's how I would rate these three movies:

1. Mungaru Male - 9/10

2. Gaalipata - 6/10. Points taken away just because of Ganesh. His acting was irritating to say the least. Rajesh Krishnan was so much better.

3. Pancharangi - 8/10. Very simple, jolly and timepass movie. Would have given 7 but the extra point just because of Nidhi. And thankfully, he avoided Ganesh.

Just came across this thread. Some good information on regional movies - especially with the fact that the only connection to malayalam in Singapore is via Asianet!

Watched Shikhaar and Pranchiyettan & Saint while I was in Kerala (in Oct).
Shikhaar made me think if I should watch a Mohanlal movie again in a Cinema hall.
And Pranchiyettan aka Mammootty, was awesome in the latter movie!

Aaptharakshaka..................!

We wanted to catch this movie in the theatre since a loooong time, but could not take my kid along, since many who watched the movie mentioned it was scary.

After a year, finally the original DVD's were launched by Moserbaer.clap:

Picked one last week, but again difficult to watch since my kid is always around at the time we try watching it.

So, we hit upon a plan. When my kid went to school, my mom and wife caught the movie and they loved it.

I skipped office today due to some reason, by 3 pm, my kid went to sleep and it was my turn to watch it . What a movie... All credit goes to the WONDERFUL ACTOR Late Dr. Vishnuvardhanclap:

His 200th movie, sequel to Aapthamitra, and his LAST. what portrayal of acting skills at this age.

ORIGINAL Screenplay good, music good, performances of supporting actors GREAT.

Even Rajanikanth mourned his death, when he saw this wonderful movie.

A bit Salute to Dr. Vishnuvardhan (also known as Sahasa Simha- Daring Lion/ Action King)

He will live on for ever............!

All in all, this movie will go down as the ALLTIME BEST Kannada movie made ever.

No rating for this movie from my side, since this movie exceeds in all aspects. A must watch to all movie lovers........

Watched the evening show of "Yuddham Sei" in PVR, and was blown-away (completely). Had high expectations of the movie, since it comes from "Mysskin" and wasnt disappointed even a little bit.

What a gripping Thriller - excellent cinematography, fantastic background score, superb editing, riveting screenplay and suttle yet catchy acting.

Would have loved if the suspense was held a little longer, but nevertheless an Excellent movie. Will watch it again.

Watched "MANASAARE" on TV last weekend.

A 9/10.

Yograj Bhat is a master in his art.clap:

Each and every character in the movie have performed so damn well.

It can be watched once again. :)

I don't quite agree with you on this. At best I would say this is a one time watch.:)

Recently bought and watched Kakana Kote. It was nice to see very down to earth acting by Lokesh, loknath, etc.

It is about the tax dispute between a local administrator Devanna Hegde and tribal chief Kaka in the mid 17th century.

The above names are not so unknown to many of us who have visited Kabini. The locations Heggada Devana Kote (H.D Kote) and Kakanakote are named after these people.

A very well made movie, very good songs too.

YouTube - nesara Nodu [Kakana Kote]

There is no more folk music based sounds in Kannada movies. Dont know what Girish Kasaravalli uses in his movies.

Watched the malayalam movie Traffic on Sat. I liked the movie. Very different from the regular movies. I loved the songs too.

Traffic - Malayalam

While the whole idea behind the operation carried out in the movie didnt really appeal to me, i quite liked the way the movie was presented and the characters depicted as the movie progressed. Engaging incidents, true to life characters, and events made for a rather interesting buildup.

Good performances from all the star cast, (including the Scorpio used :D) and a gripping background score added to the experience. There were some flaws in the picturisation, but dont want to put them here as dampners.

Worth a watch.

Rating : ****

I watched Traffic a few days back and really liked it. Very fast-paced and at the same time has a few heart-wrenching moments as well.

Btw, where's Rahman in that poster?

Have watched Payanam recently.

Plot was kept simple. No songs. Good acting. Great dialogues (and the subtle humour in it).

Another nice movie from Radha Mohan. Really enjoyed it.

Rating: 4/5

Nfsfreak,

With due respects to your opinion, I would rate this movie one of the worst I've ever watched. I, and my friends were fuming throughout the 2hrs or so. The saving grace was the little humor that comes up now and then.
