Beautiful addition to your already envious collection! I simply love the Nicolas Rieussec and the GMT/Star chronographs in their line up. Didn't the manager show them? A lot of watch for the money. Great choice!
Am eagerly waiting for my Stowa :-) Hopefully it will be on my wrist this weekend. |
I was shown the Nicolas Rieussec but since I was not in the market for a watch I dint look at them seriously.
Stowa, again is an interesting brand. I like their chronograph model range. Please do post the pictures once you get it.
Guys,
Any idea if HMT Kohinoor is still available? Saw the pics somewhere and realised my father used to have one, for a long time - but somehow got lost now. Would be a nice gift for him, if i can buy it. :thumbs up
EDIT: Where is store in bnagalore?

CrAzY dRiVeR, on this thread you will find all details of the HMT stores in Bangalore.
In case of Thursday morning laziness blues (happens to the best of us :D), here goes:
1) Lakshmi Watch Store (or Works?) - Unity Building, opposite the "official" HMT watch shop. Proprietor: Mr. Shetty. Free: badam milk in plastic cup.
2) HMT Bhavan - a little north of Mekhri Circle. Proprietor: Rotund, greasy-haired, shifty character. Free: improve your kannada slang in 15 minutes!
I'm sure your Dad would love to have a Kohinoor. Do share some pics when you get one.
Cheers,
Rahul

Also there's one called the CSD building at jalahalli. The phone numbers and address are on the official website of hmt
This is a new arrival at my closet, guess what is it ?

I'm in love with all-black watches. Don't know how much of a fashion statement they are, but they work for me. :)
Currently have this Titan
Obaku
and this Timex Aura
Saving up for this Seiko Monster. (I'm still only an intern, so.. :p)
(Took the pics with my cellphone, so please excuse the quality)
Another impulsive buy - Citizen Eco-Drive. Fell for the blue dial.

Appears to be a pocket watch with a hunter case - an unusually decorative one at that. Would be interesting to know what it is and where you got it from.

You mean you didn't have to pay for it? Wow!!! You have a piece of American heritage in your possession. Did you manage to identify the lady and/or the child in the picture?

Oops I did pay for it, no I didn't want to do the investigation to identify the lady as I took it from heirloom and also not enough time and saved myself from unwanted attention as stranger from her family
Parents gifted me a Titan Edge when I got my first job through campus placement in 2008. It's very elegant and formal. Has a sapphire crystal onthe face hence till date it is scratch less and looks as good as new!
P.S. The particular watch in pic is not mine. Just to share the model.
Regards.
I can't help but smile at this fully Indian Devnagri HMT Janata watch, whenever I steal a glance at it ticking away merrily!

After a long delay at customs, my Stowa is finally delivered to me. Either Stowa or Fedex goofed up and messed with the delivery which resulted in 10 days delay. Anyway, I received this beauty last Tuesday. Am not sure if the pics do justice to this magnificent piece. It really looks very elegant and classy, just the kind of chrono I was looking for. These are night pics which I clicked just a while ago, I'll hopefully add day pics very soon. It uses the Valijoux 7753 caliber which is now used in most auto chronos.

Let me be the first to congratulate you on this stunning acquisition. The watch looks better everytime I look at it. The online pics do no justice to the beauty. Im especially smitten by the picture of the back casing with all the exposed mechanicals. So how do you plan on using it? Daily wear or dress watch.
Once again congratulations. This watch is a stunner. And probably an expert conversation starter :D
