Re: Which watch do you own?

Just very recently noticed we have a T-Bhp Watch thread thanks to the newsletter.

I am pleased to have reached a place in life where I've finally been able to purchase a High Horology timepiece, and to share it with you all : )

Re: Which watch do you own?

Bought the Casio EFV 100-D from Amazon for a bargain price of 5.2k. The watch punches very well above it's weight and for the price, the finishing and accuracy is impressive. Also, the second hand hits the markers perfectly which is a great thing for someone with OCD like me. Managed to swap the bracelet to a President one for the 'Aqua Terra' vibes and it looks way more premium now.

Looks smashing. I also noted that you got the watch from Ethos. The website always mentions the MRP and Contact Us for the Selling Price. How much of a difference is it actually? If you aren't comfortable discussing here can you DM?

Lot of amazing watches, not many smart ones though (kidding).
Here's my Garmin fenix 7 solar with sapphire glass. I love it as it still looks old school but can do wonders.

Re: Which watch do you own?

Does anyone here own and have experience/feedback on Casio Rangeman GPR h1000?

The amount of tech on this amazes me and its a wish to own a proper/Genuine Casio.

While its retailing for 60K in India, its selling for 40K in Malaysia and I can pick this up in my next travel there.

So, please suggest if anyone here has any feedback or insights?

Just for reference - I moved from traditional to smart watches few years ago and will stay with Smart for next few years atleast. I am on Apple Watch 7 now and was also considering OP2 as I moved out from Apple ecosystem - currently using Android.

For Omega, you can expect a fixed discount of about 8% at Ethos. All / most Omega options were available at 8% discount and nothing more than that. With other brands though (Carl Bucherer, Grand Seiko etc), the discounts can be much more significant depending on their ongoing schemes and you can negotiate suitably.

Having answered Mr. Aditya's query in PM I'll confirm the same here.
In addition to what Axe77 mentioned, I was told the discounts were higher than 8% last year, I was offered much more than 8% at another Ethos branch(Phoenix) and on a Seamaster model, at 4.5 on a then 5.75 MRP as I recall, however again this was last year. Unless I am mistaken It would seem it varies from model to model as well or did so last year. My simple understanding being the difficulty acquiring Rolex pieces has resulted in demand being shifted from there to Omega, a very natural customer transition given as these brands compete directly. As a result Omega seems to have adjusted their max discount offered accordingly.

Brands like Grand Seiko as much as ~30% off.

Re: Which watch do you own?

This is my current collection. Seikos and Citizen are ~ 17 years old and others are less than 10 years old.
Timex expedition perpetual calendar is also ~ 17 years old but not working. Took it to Timex service center and they said mechanism is gone and spare is not available for such old watches. Is it possible to get it repaired anywhere else, India or abroad?

You would need to search out on the web an artisan watch repairing service. Usually a guy you trace, contact on email, send pictures. And then ship the watch --- and pray you get if back. Parts are usually available some way or another. India it will be difficult for all this.

Have you tried shops that deal with vintage / complex watches, like Praveen Watch Co (location). Haven’t been there personally but have heard good reviews.

Re: Which watch do you own?

Good to see people still sticking with analog watches in this age of everything "smart'.

I used to love wrist watches and have a decent collection. But now I wear my Google Pixel mostly - except at formal occasions.
