I really liked this one from Poze range (price is ~ 900 Rupees)
These are available in most of the local shops. I picked it up from a watch spare shop in Trivandrum.

Re: Which watch do you own?

I have been wanting to post my humble collection on here for a while. So here goes!

1) A simple Sonata dress watch with a gold case and brown leather strap. This was my grandfather's watch and so is probably the most special piece in my collection. Recently got the movement serviced. Need to find a new strap for it but just don't have the heart to take off the strap he used.

2) A Casio G- Shock GD100GB. This piece is special to me. I bought this back in 2012 when I was in class 10. I remember collecting and saving all the money I could over the festive season and buying this off of Koovs. I absolutely love this watch and have way too many memories with it. Fun fact- I changed the original cell 9 years after buying the watch. Recently renewed the strap and the watch looks like new now. This one is Heirloom material.

3) A basic Fossil Chronograph watch. This was a gift my father got actually. He didn't really use it because of it's size, so it found a place in my collection.

4) A Timex expedition Field watch. Picked this up from Houston recently. Absolutely love the Indiglo feature.

5) A vintage HMT Pilot with a custom clear case back on a NATO strap. A watch collector friend knows a guy who mods and restores vintage pieces and sells them for a decent price. Picked this up from him. It came with a horrible leather strap, but I think it looks great with this NATO.

6) An Apple watch SE 2 I recently picked up for tracking my workouts.

7) A Casio G-Shock GM2100 " Casioak". I think this watch looks way more expensive than it is. I am looking for an orange strap for this for a while. Any leads? Only negative is that the watch scratches way too easily. Very unbecoming of a G.

8) I picked up two of these Seiko Chronographs from Tokyo. This was the first purchase with my salary and so is very special to me. The second one has a beautiful Brown leather strap which I gifted my dad.

9) A Swatch x Blancpain 50 fathoms ocean of storms which I picked up impulsively from Bangalore recently. The watch looks exactly like the 50 fathoms 75 years version and I intend to change the strap soon. BEautiful watch with an even more beautiful looking movement.

I plan on adding a Seiko SSK 003 and a Presage cocktail to my collection soon. Wish watch collectting was a cheaper hobby

Go to attukal shopping complex, climb one floor from the Joy alukkas side and the first shop on the floor next to the stairs run by 2 north Indian folks.

That is a wholesale shop and you'll only get common items. They don't stock the likes of NATO straps unfortunately.

You can try Time&Me - https://g.co/kgs/8NBD2xD
Had a couple of good experiences with him. No idea about gold plating but definitely did some good polishing and restorations

I know you posted it in jest, but a 9 mm and 150 kg increment over 10 years - R34 to R35 - is hardly a massive gain when you consider the much higher levels of safety, chassis rigidity, and overall performance. Sorry, the enginerd in me just refuses to die.

Cool VCs there, especially the dress watch in the middle.
Thanks! The one in the middle is my own Patrimony, it's unobtrusive enough to be worn and not attract attention, and looks ok on my bird sized wrists. The larger diver's watches are just eyegrabbers, especially in gold and especially for thieves.

Re: Which watch do you own?

Added this Timex Marlin Chronograph (TW2W10100UJ) to my small collection. I was bit hesitant on the green dial but this one looks beautiful. I have been eying Marlin chronograph range for last few weeks and ordered it immediately when it came back in stock.

Re: Which watch do you own?

So I was all set to buy 2 Tissot watches - in brown and black leather straps for a combined damage of INR57k.

And then I thought lemme just check if my go-to knowledge pool TBHP has some guidance to offer. And then I descended into this rabbit hole of a thread and confusion.

At one time I thought I would pick up the Tissot le locle powermatic 80 black strap + Seiko presage brown strap/brown dial for a combined damage of 1.1lacs, better sense prevailed. And herein I find myself in a pickle where I request the forum’s horologists (I didn’t even know this word!) advice.

The requirement:
- ideally 1 black + 1 brown leather strap Watch.
- atleast 1 mechanical/automatic
- brand preference of Tissot + Seiko

Shortlist:

Black strap:
- Seiko 5 Sports Automatic with black leather strap
https://www.ethoswatches.com/product...-srpd76k1.html

Would this be a good entry point into the world of automatic movement?

Brown Strap:
- Tissot Chrono XL Classic
https://www.ethoswatches.com/product...16-092-00.html

- Tissot T Classic collection
Multiple options from 25k to 31k

I would r want to spend more than 60k in total, the lesser the better. The reason for choosing quartz for the brown straps is that I want to buy the Seiko Automatic (brown strap/green dial) as my next mechanical watch. Are the Tissot T Classic Dream watches good? How long will it last and I don’t mean the battery life, more like the watch itself?

Any other suggestions from the learned members here?

Re: Which watch do you own?

This is one of my favorite watches, Seiko SNA411 Flightmaster. Using it for more than 8 years. Changed the steel band to a leather one.

Re: Which watch do you own?

I categorise my watches into two groups: Precious, due to their emotional value, and Beater.

Precious: Casio Enticer MTP-E321L (1st Gift from my SO), 2 Titans (purchased on my birthdays in the first 2 years on the job), Armani Exchange AX2098.

Beater: Mast & Harbour, Fastrack Digital watch (worn every day and on long rides).

I also have a Sonata Sleek, which I usually wear with formal attire. A new beater, the Casio F94-WA, is on the way.

Future aspiration: A watch fromTissot Motogp Collection.

The automatic Seiko and the quartz Tissot you listed are in the same price range, try it on at a store before you decide. Tissot is better finished and online photos are kind of misleading to decide on such a big ticket purchase. Buy the alpinist, that you're interested in, both of these watches won't interest you after that.

Re: Which watch do you own?

I am looking to refurbish and bring back to working order few HMT watches owned by my father, these watches are from 1980-90s. Does any one have any info on a trustworthy person who can achieve this goal?.
