re: Best "Car" movie you've seen

Wow! That's a whole lotta movies about cars!
My personal favorites include:
1. Fast and the Furious series in this order : 2F2F, F5, F6, FnF1, FnF4, TokyoDrift(3). Eagerly awaiting F7.. R.I.P Paul Walker... :'(
2. Gone in 60 seconds - Elanor!!!
3. Back to the future series
4. Italian Job
5. Cars, Cars 2
6. Torque (somehow liked the movie)
7. Bad Boys 1 & 2 (I know, not a real car movie, but the chase scenes in it are awesome! esp. in the 2nd one!)
8. Need for Speed (did not live up to expectation, but still a good car movie)
9. Death Race series
10. Transporter Series

the list is endless!!!

re: Best "Car" movie you've seen

My favorites are, apart from most of the movies mentioned above:

1. Rush. Came out earlier this year, portrays the Hunt-Lauda face-off in a brilliant manner. My fav scene is the one when Lauda takes the peasants car to its limits to impress his would-be wife.

2. World's fastest Indian. Amazing performance by Anthony Hopkins, and one of the best bike movies I have ever seen. I'm not sure if Bajaj intentionally copied the title for P220 ad.

Yes yes! How could I forget Rush! What a brilliant movie. It is without a doubt, one of those must watch movies for driving enthusiasts like us!

re: Best "Car" movie you've seen

I used to like the Mel Gibson movie "Mad Max" in college days. Ronin definitely and Italian Job were lovely. Thanks to many new names in the forum, looking forward to watch them.

re: The best car movies you've seen

Nice movie - Drive. It's not outstanding as online reviews (including Rotten Tomato ratings) would have you believe, but still worth a watch. Ryan Gosling is a good actor.

Only 50 bucks on YouTube for HD.

Re: The best car movies you've seen

Car Dogs = 3 / 5 stars. Watched it only because it's set in a car dealership. Gives some insights about the competitive sales environment, politics, tricks played on customers etc. More of a regular drama that's interesting to us only due to the dealership environment.

Watched Baby driver a few days back. The car driving, especially the Subarus in the first few driving sequences, is excellent.

Re: The Foreign (non-English) Movies thread (no spoilers please)

My post is about favorite Hollywood movies with iconic cars in them. This is my list:

1. Risky Business - Porsche 928
2. Bullitt - Ford Mustang GT Fastback
3. Ferriss Bueller's Day Off - Ferrari 250 GT California
4. Italian Job - Mini Cooper S
5. All Herbie Movies
6. John Wick - Ford Mustang

The movies themselves may not be of much artistic quality, it's the cars which are almost characters in their own way.

Absolute gem of a movie. Would recommend this (even) to cine lovers that aren’t into Motorsport, without hesitation.

Re: The best car movies you've seen

Watched Smokey and the Bandit once again after a very long time (after Mrs.Dhoni posted a picture of their Firebird) and I think anyone who loves muscle cars must watch it.

Re: The best car movies you've seen

Tons ! Just tons. I am absolutely sure I cant fit them all here. Will tell of the few I like.

All the Jason Statham transporter movies. Yep especially the first one with the black BMW 7 series. Pictured here 'Transporter 3 (2008)'.
The best car movies you've seen-1-transporter.png

The Off roading scene from 'Bad company 2002' in a black S Class.

The Mission Impossible Franchise has some iconic car scenes and Tom sure has fun with them. Hard to pick a favorite.
The best car movies you've seen-3-mission-impossible.png

This entry scene of John Abraham was way too cool back in the day. Made this franchise what it is.

Rush and Ford VS Ferrari. Both biopics with class.
The best car movies you've seen-4-biopics.png

Loved the first and third installments. 'Cars' (2006) and 'Cars 3' (2017).

Like all Michael Bay movies, Bad Boys 2 was filled with mayhem. The Ferrari chase scene, The Cadillac chase scene and the Cuba scene. Sure must have gone over budget

Mini Coopers from the Italian Job as well as the First Bourne movie.
The best car movies you've seen-6-mini-cooper.png

Mad max 2015. What a beautiful mess !
The best car movies you've seen-7-mad-max.png

The Viper scene from Wanted.

My 3 favorite Bond car scenes from the 90's onwards. The remote controlled 7 series, the flipping scene in Casino Royale and the Opening of Quantum of Solace.
The best car movies you've seen-8-bond.png

The freeway scene in Mr. and Mrs. Smith with some really bad ass M5s.

Another Michael Bay madness !

The flying car scene in the Chamber of Secrets.
The best car movies you've seen-9-harry.png

Iconic Bullitt scene
The best car movies you've seen-10-bullitt.png

The bridge jump scene from XXX in the red corvette was way too cool.

Who can forget the antics of the Dukes of Hazzard. The Dodge Charger was a character itself in this fun movie.

The highway scene from the second matrix, the matrix reloaded was filled with this gem of a chase scene.
The best car movies you've seen-12-matrix-2.png

The DeLorean from the back to the future franchise doesn't get much of action besides travelling in time. But nonetheless it is an iconic car.

The Ford and the Benz were also a huge part of the 1st and 2nd movie, though in the end the dinosaurs didn't like them too much and tossed them down the side of the hill.

Now this is another level of Driving

Cool and funky movie with beautiful car scenes
The best car movies you've seen-14-baby-driver.png

The tense situations in 'Sicario'. This movie is a masterpiece.

A Ryan Gosling movie from 2011, 'Drive'.
The best car movies you've seen-15-drive.png

The Limo scene from '2012' as well as the Bentley scene from the same movie.

Another Jason Statham movie. The sequels were a waste though.

Beautiful M5 from Ronin
The best car movies you've seen-17-ronin.png

Raiders of the last Ark had a pretty good chase scene with some good fight choreography.

Need for Speed. Overall not a very good movie, but the car scenes were without any CGI

Obviously There will be the Fast and furious universe in this list. Though recently some have gone overboard, this franchise does have some iconic scenes. From the train gate jump in the first movie to Tokyo drifting to Brazil, some are indeed iconic.

The most iconic of them all. Only Legends will understand the pain.

Paul Walker is for my Generation what Steve McQueen and James Dean were for the previous generations. A true bona fide car lover who got to play it on screen too.
