Worst: Ramiz Raja for his comment on live TV during the Independence Cup which was hosted by India in India and lost to Pak.
"I wouldn't like it if it was my birthday and someone else took the cake".

Best: Tony Greg. Boy, does he need a seatbelt or what. Often seems to be keen on jumping out of the comm box out on the ground amidst all the action.

Good: Ian Chappel but boring sometimes. Too much into detail.

Can I say Mark Nicholas. The fellow was a flop English cricketer, but he knows which side of the bread is buttered. As a result, he is a more patriotic Australian than even the most patriotic Aussie.

Tough competition between Arun lal and Ranjit Fernando. Have a feeling Maninder is equally competitive but havent recently heard him comment.

Is there any option to vote for Best?

If yes, my vote goes to Geoffrey Boycott. He is the most hilarious, outrageous and in-the-face commentator. I just love it. His commentary is probably better than his cricketing skills.

Don't know about the "Year", but if it's "forever" there are 2 eternal masterpieces in the world of Cricket - Lakshman and Ranjit

I have nothing but admiration for Manjrekar's batting. He was better than most among his peers. He had one BIG flaw which most of our Indian batsmen had those days. He cannot play the short ball & he was exposed in Australia.

One unforgettable innings - World Cup 1992, Ind vs Aus.

Arun Lal is the worst I have heard, not too far off is Siva Rama Krishnan. Dont know whats with all these Indian commentators such as these 2, there are far better talents out here. What ever Arun Lal predicts in the match, it always happens the other way. How much of a success was he as a cricketer too to go on and on about criticising the greats such as Dravid all the time?

Big O.T.: Its become a big pain to watch matches India play due to 2 major factors. 1) These Stupid commentators. 2) Greedy channels who are more interested in showing us all and sundry advertisements interrupting match like its nobodys business than telecasting them in a way Australian and England matches are done.

If getting inspired to everything Australian is the order of the day in cricket, then why not Telecasting? We are seriously under-priviledged in this aspect.

Worst is Rameez raja.
Best commentary i heard was when Boycott and Sidhu use to take digs at each other.
Otherwise Harsha Bhogle does a good job, also Gavaskar is fine.
As for being Indian commentators biased isn't the Oz and English ones biased for their players?

Thats exactly what I referred to in my earlier post, their commentary at the annual Sahara Cup held in Toronto, Canada.

This quick candid comment was hillarious. I vaguely remember the exactly words of the commentators, one was British and the other was Harsha Bhogle. The English chap prudently went like,"The rules of the game are decided/changed by the M.C.C...." Bhogle went like," I know only one MCC...Marredpally Cricket Club" (His home ground)

If anyone saw the Aussies Vs South Africa series you could sense the desperation in Bill Lawry's voice. He was so pathetically Pro Australian, even when Australia were on the verge of losing he kept on talking about the Aussie fightback. It was way too much.

Sunny who is a good commentator has started taking digs at the Aussies way too often these days. Well the Aussies had it coming..

The most stupid one was Henry Blofeld (remember Sharjah and earrings !!) He blustered his way through most of the matches.

Boycott was a very good commentator. Called a spade a spade. And Boycott - Sidhu, Boycott - Sunny were really informative and entertaining.
